I bought a DD and went to their forum which shall remain nameless for now. I love the car but the members of the forum are snotty stuck up jerks. They wont even reply to simple questions about how to turn something off or on when you cant find it in the manual. If they do reply they make some crap remark about how its been previously addressed despite not being able to search out the thread. Even if something about the car sucks (the nav) they attack you for daring to say it has flaws and how can you work around them. Very odd forum indeed.

on the other hand

This forum freakin rocks. Despite some of you being sarcastic in the best possible way and breaking balls sometimes...we are all very helpful to one another. Even when a member gets scammed we pull together and dominate. Just wanted to say thanks to everyone who makes this forum/community a better place to kill time surfing the web and talking about our cars, and also thanks to AK for keeping this thing up and running smoothly.

Cheers!

Did you go and join NASIOC? :rofl2:

Amj2020 08-15-2013 01:49 PM

Chuck, all I can is wow...I wish I knew sooner.

Chuck33079 08-15-2013 01:51 PM

I figured out by the "snotty, stuck up jerks". It's gotten pretty bad. I joined on 2001 when I bought my WRX, and it was a lot like here. It's now some unholy abomination of Hondatech and Reddit.

The supra forum is rough. I agree this forum is the best one I ever been on

Chuck33079 08-15-2013 01:54 PM

It could be worse than NASIOC. At least there is a lot of good technical info there if you dig for it. They have some guys that really know their ****. The IS300 forum is far worse. I'm on there for info about the IS I'm turning into a track car, and it's all hellaflushed stanced ricers who just want to lower the car until the car high centers on a speed bump or the stretched tires debead at freeway speeds.

:icon17: You're a bigger man than me! I heard the Jeep and Toyota forums can be quite hostile.

The veterans and mods on this forum contribute meaningfully, without rude lead-ins.

I think what makes this forum great is threads (mostly) go without someone saying, "...I think people whom do _____ or purchase _____ are idiots."
I'm pretty sure low-quality things like that are what make people not want to post or be a part of forums at all. Of course when that does happen here, I just think of how nice it is to coexist, live and let others live. Ahhh, maturity

You'll like this forum until Frost shows up in your thread...

Maybe it has to do with the higher average age of 370Z owners. I did say average.

I was on celica.org for over 10 years, and while I met a lot of great people in my area through that forum, it was mostly childish dribble, a lot of politics and a lot of sucking up to the owner of the forum (if you wanted to be in the "in" crowd). Bluebatmobile can probably chime in on that (he was one of the "in" guys).
