Glad to see you are home now and recuperating. May I suggest that you set a chair up where you will have an uniterrupted view of the Z during the day. Nothing helps the healing process better than a new Z!

Get well friend! :tiphat:

Good morning :tiphat:

@Chuck Yeah, I really need to start making it by the gallon. I usually make a small thing enough for a meal but I'd rather make a big batch and call it a day.

My work area at home looks out to my detached garage and concrete pad through a large window. I see both of my Z's.

Yeah, I'll do two gallons. It usually lasts three or four months.

Thats about what I think it would last us too. I need to start measuring some stuff and write it down...my "recipe" is eyeballing and throwing whatever sounds good at the time in the pot. :icon17:

I used to do that. I've gotten pretty good about writing everything down. It's too much work to re-think everything each time. Plus, I've got the recipe about 99% dialed in, and I just want to get it perfect.

At my Father's service at Arlington last week, my appendix decided to burst. I made my first connecting flight home (to Cincinnati) and then spent 5 days in the hospital in Kentucky.

eastwest2300 09-25-2013 08:53 AM

I have a LOT of it memorized but I like to sometimes add a few dashes of Franks redhot and others Sriracha chile sauce lol

Sriracha is an ingredient. I also include chipotles, serranos and jalapenos and a bunch of cayenne powder. It's hot. My chili is worse. It's all of those, plus a healthy dose of ghost pepper.

I am a huge fan of serranos! I use it when I make thai meatballs in peanut sauce. Of course doused with Sriracha after cooking. I go through so many bottles of that stuff a year! I need to buy it in the gallons lol

******* deathly peanut allergy here. If I touch one, it leaves a welt like you shot me with a paintball gun. Thai food is russian roulette.

There used to be one by me that I went to that was very cognizant of allergies, and made sure that no utensils were used plating food that had touched peanuts. That's the worry. I order something without peanuts, and the serving spoon in the kitchen has some sauce left on it. Boom, emergency tracheotomy on the restaurant floor and a fun bout of anaphylactic shock I may or may not live through.

:icon18:

this reminds me of a plastic model kit i was saving up for as a 2nd grader and the store had marked one kit with the wrong price.

i had enough cash for that. :D

that's right kids, things had actual price tags on them individually back in the pre 90's era... i use to work stock at this store as a teen and was a master-blackbelt price tag gunner. :ugh: :wtf2:

And they were easy to switch. Toys were expensive on a kid's allowance, you gotta get over somehow.
