Drove a few blocks to take a look at a 62 Ford Falcon Futura. 2dr, 302 V8, A/T, super clean body-headliner-carpet-seat covers, am radio, shifter on the steering column. Couldn't open the hood and take a look but it was a super clean car with nice tight body panel fit. The engine isn't stock but it's a V8 so ... sigh. He's asking $7500. Not a bad price probably but I'd want to put another $15k into it and that's out of the question after just buying the Z two months ago. Nice car though.

And disregard the dirtiness... it's monsoon season and I'm not washing it until it's over. :icon17:

haboob- i thought i warned you, and you said the tire shop had the right equipment. that does not look like they used the right equipment... :ugh:

Okay, so I need some advice.

A couple of weeks ago I took my car in to get the drivers-side rear tire fixed, because it had a giant bolt in it.

Today the TPMS comes on, I go to refill it and see these on the rim:

I'm going to call them tomorrow to see what can be done, but has it been too long?

I don't park on any curbs, not that a curb could reach the large scratch...

Whoa, that's really weird. It doesn't look like traditional damage caused by a tire changer. I've had that some three times. :icon14:

kenchan 07-08-2013 08:39 PM

haboob- so was it the same tire that was losing air? :ugh:

honestly i would've just plugged it from the outside using those plug kits.

i thought you wrote "plus size" mr.gale. :rofl2:

it's because your body works in cycles... mine is 1.5 hr cycles... so if I get 4 hours of sleep, I am blah, but if it get 4.5 I am good.. lol

I've never had a problem with them before with aftermarket rims.

That's what I thought, but there's no where else it could have come from than in their shop? Unless someone vandalized it, but that seems a bit odd of a spot, no?

The tire was at like 32psi, so it was a bit low.

:iagree::yum:

because hot showers feel good because of the water pressure and steam... hot weather is just hot

That is a seriously bad idea -- especially on a Z-rated tire. Since there are some people here who think you have knowledgeable advice, for whatever reason, it is irresponsible to recommend this. Do you wish to see misfortune fall upon Mr. Haboob? Is it some sort of vendetta or blood feud that drives you to this reckless advice?

I drove over a chunk of glass Sunday and it put a slice in my tire -- maybe about 3/8 - 1/2 " and right in the center (centre) of the tread. There is no way I am patching it and putting back on the car for daily purposes. I bought a new one from Tire Rack and will keep the damaged one as a spare. By the way, I have only 510 miles on the stockers -- if I had many more miles, I would have replaced both sides.

the smaller mount mark looks like marks off a traditional pre-non-touch mounter mark. so they under inflated and it gradually lost psi, or is it leaking do you think? regardless, i would definitely take it back to the tireshop and ask for repair.

Haboob 07-08-2013 08:52 PM

I'm going to. Gonna call them tomorrow.

I may still have a slow leak too, not sure.
