msbc- btw, the griot's yellow mud has its own problems. it's so soft it takes some getting use to to make the clay glide smoothly at first. if it catches the paint during the glide, it leaves behind a thin film of clay...which takes takes a few more strokes to clay it off. weird, huh? :icon17: im use to it now so i dont have this problem these days.

i use SpeedShine when i use the griot's mud (along with disposable gloves as the yellow dye gets on your hand), but for all other clays i use the meguiar's marooon bottle cheap QD. :p

 thanks kenchan!!!

And Jar!!!
And Niz and Pint! Lol!
Much easier than i expected ;)

I was ALMOST finished w wax and now i am at ballpark w mini!
Harry looks AMAZING! I clayed the hatch area 3 times-it was really dirty and i can't believe how much better it looks!!
(Soooo-if clay glides smoothly surface is clean but if it catches or hesitates it is picking up gunk-right? This is assuming lots of lubrication)....i used 3/4 of the spray that came w the kit and 1 and 1/3 clay bars. :excited: car looks great!! :woot:

I am going to Pints Complaining thread and let loose some vitriolic verbiage. Urgh.

in my case i can't really feel the clay catching at all..only visually see the clay working on the contaminant. with the meguiar's clay i had, when it felt like that, that was when it started to scratch the paint. almost felt like taking those old hard erasers for pens on paper back in the (pre-erasermate pens..pre-1980's). :icon17:

 Other than the first time I clayed the Z, I rarely feel the clay catch on larger particles. As Kenchan says, even when it feels smooth, it may still be picking up smaller contaminants. I use the detail spray liberally and am not afraid to spend extra time and strokes (that's what she said) with the clay.

Just got done with a quick wash of the Z :yum:

Have some work to take care of right quick, and then I will replace the regulator on my Weber gas grill
