NO! Taking my rim to Discount today. The guy wanted me to call to setup a time, but every time I called he was "busy" and I left messages for him to call me back, so **** it. I'm going down there and I expect it back Wed. (Repair co. will pick it up in the morning most likely and they need it over night). |
goodam, everyone!
commute to work this am was insane. :shakes head: are they having a loser's convention today?:gtfo2: |

so yesterday i had to redo my dinoc around the hvac trim. :ugh:
last time i used one sheet to wrap the entire trim and it looked great until the summer sun hit it with in-cabin temps reaching over 120F. :shakes head: i had to use a lot of tension when i wrapped around the hvac rings so that is part of the reason why this happened. :ugh: http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...dinoc-fail.jpg this time i did the trim using 4 pieces. the main base piece, then 3 hvac rings. here's the base piece and the center ring attached. the center ring is only for cosmetics to add consistency to the other 2 rings. http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...rap-center.jpg here are the side pieces that go on the outer hvac rings. i used masking tape to make a template. this has no tension on the dinoc so it shouldn't peel up or wrinkle later. http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...vac-pieces.jpg here are the side pieces attached.. http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...noc-hvac-2.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...noc-final2.jpg and this time im heat cycling it under my IR lamp at 125F for 10hrs. :icon17: http://www.the370z.com/members/kench...-heatcycle.jpg |

sun's suppose to come out later in the week so im going to toss that trim in my fit and leave it cooking out in the sun for the remainder of the week. this way it would be 'aged' enough to be installed back onto my Z by friday night. :p |
Nice work, ken-san!
