When life gives you lemons...

Say, "**** the lemons!" and bail.

Haboob 05-30-2013 01:30 PM

I'm thinking of starting a kickstarter similar to this.

Might consider giving the Z a bath tonight.

Footloose301 05-30-2013 01:37 PM

Let be honest here; who just got fired for googling "lemon party"?

So that's a no, since it's a "might consider".

I used to give her a wash weekly and keep my interior clean. Now I'm in IDGAF mode.

you're such a drama queen :icon23:

and if I ever thought about having to wash my DD on a weekly basis, I would buy a different DD or retire, whichever is easier :icon17:

So how does that make me a drama queen? I get told to stop caring by you and others here so I did. :icon23:

Haboob 05-30-2013 01:49 PM

I'm more on a monthly wash schedule.

That way I can time it for when I wash my car, we're both clean.

There's too much dust and wind in Phoenix to deal with washing it more often... sometimes 2mos or more can go by.

Well, my paint was ruined less than a month after I had it redone. Then the twisted sisters put lots of chips on it. So I really don't care if it sits dirty to be ruined more. I'll do a claim at the end of the year and have it all repainted.

:iagree: I get to her more than once a month usually but there have definitely been droughts of 2 months or more (that's when I'll do a touchless car wash maybe). The key is to do a full detail every so often. I tell myself I have to do it at least twice a year, but I've pretty much been able to do it every quarter at least. Full wash, clay, polish (if necessary), glaze (if desired), and wax (2 light coats > 1 heavy coat) :tiphat:

While I'm glad you've seen the light and that chips aren't the end of the world, there are lots of panels on your car that don't have chips in them. I just pay attention to them more. Hell, I barely even wash my front bumper any more (and I certainly don't waste any clay or wax on it). The hood looks good but have a couple of chips that I try to ignore. The rest of the car is :yum: except for a few scratches (partially fixed by hand, but I now have the tools to finish the job )

As "badly" as you guys think your cars look, I bet it would take less than an hour to find a long line of people who would gladly take them off your hands. Every day I drive my daily driver (09 Matrix) the more I appreciate my Z - scars and all.

Nobody notices those "pimples" but you guys. You maintain it the best you can, enjoy the time spent cleaning and polishing, and ignore the blemishes.

You both have beautiful cars that I have seen in person, and neither is any worse than mine or probably anyone else's who drives their car every day.

Enjoy them while you have them. I bet mr. onzedge wishes he had his right now.

Now let me crawl back under my rock, and I'll touch base again in a few weeks.

Hopefully soon. Other than to heat up the engine two weeks ago, I have not driven my car since Nismo Fiesta (mid-April).

Tomorrow is full-on detail time. I know I promised to come up there and help detail yours and mr. JAR's cars. I've got all the stuff, just don't have the time right now.

Indy last weekend, Texas Motor Speedway IndyCar race next weekend, then things may settle down. Definitely want to get back up there and cruise with you guys.
