Here's a crappy phone pic of what I had to crawl along. Blow these studs you see horizontal is a one foot gap to the real studs for the ceiling in the upstairs but those ones had nasty insulation yuk!

Took the pic while I took a lil 5 min rest to sit up instead of laying on my ribs and legs :ugh2:

woah, nice job and nice picts, LMB. that looks spooky up there as expected. :ugh: i remember nailing down these plastic flooring at my parent's old place long time ago. makes it A LOT easier to crawl and use as storage. :D

Morning.

Hrm, kind of a somber Monday. It's been so hot out, super windy and dusty last night (wasn't me!), then 19 firefighters died up North fighting a wildfire.

A friend sent me a pic of the fire:
( Click to show/hide )

Her grandparents (experienced firefighter, fighting the fires still, and EMT) took the pic - a little too close for comfort being that 19 FF's just died.

:eekdance: holy crap. 19 died? :(

Yep. 19 of the "Hot Shots". So they didn't have any water or tanker trucks. They were out there trying to build a fire line to prevent it from spreading further towards the population. They had to dig in and cover themselves in their foil-like wrap (not sure what it's called) and hope that the fire passes over...

It didn't. :(

One of the worst jobs and most physically demanding too. They have to hike up through the mountain/hills/dried brush. :shakes head:

Nismo89 07-01-2013 10:29 AM

yea, was watching the news this morning, those 19 firefighters went into their survival suits, designed to protect them from fire and something happened to the suits or whatever and the suits didn't protect them like they are designed to do. The Suits are used only as a last resort in a dire situation until the fire passes over. and something clearly didn't go as planned with their suits...

LMBmikeZ 07-01-2013 10:33 AM

:hello:

Finished up in the garage Z is fresh again :yum: But now it is time to see what we are doing for lunch???......

I know mid after noon we are heading out to go to the BBQ at a friends where we can see the local fireworks from their backyard

dang, that' really sucks. :( wind direction can change at any given time so back up of a backup of a backup of a backup is probably needed. that's kinda like that veteran tornado chaser guy who passed away earlier this spring. :(

Busy prepping everything for some upcoming shows as well as focusing on my marriage. The Z really needs a bath soon, she's been neglected for far too long.

i just got a real cheap manual one for the wife (thus "hamster mill")for like $150 or something shipped on amazon. works.

the thing about treadmill (or any excercise for that matter) is not so much the equipment....but rather your commitment to do it routinely.

dont want to hear 'oh im too tired...' or 'oh, i have a headache.'
then walk the damn distance on the treadmill. :icon17:

Hey Ken :hello: That sounds like a plan. I'll spend whatever time necessary on Thursday out at the site, but I don't think I'll plan to go into the office that day. I made reservations at Perry's Steakhouse for Friday lunch for me and the wife and a good friend of ours - I'll probably end up in the office that morning and have my wife pick me up on her way to lunch. Hope your clear-bra install goes well :tiphat:

Video of the fire.

Yarnell, AZ Fire video: Air15 flies over deadly wildfire

2:15 really shows how big the flames are. :eekdance:

This is about the only thing that Arizona has natural disaster-wise, but it's only this bad, because Yarnell hasn't had a fire in a decade or more. Shorter times between fires is good, as they are much easier to handle and extinguish.

0% contained. 3300+ acres burned.

A little rain expected, but it isn't going to help much with the winds fueling the fire.

Haboob 07-01-2013 01:03 PM

Wow, so they just said one member of the crew made it out alive, because he was off moving the crew's truck to a closer location.

How upset, yet relieved does that guy feel?

kenchan 07-01-2013 01:05 PM

holy crapola. :eekdance:
