I'm wondering what kind of statement I'd make driving up to the courthouse in in a Z car.

My guess would be a good one? My wife is a lawyer and until we had jr. and she had to get a mommy car (Jag XF), she drove her Porsche to court all the time. :p

That's exactly my point. I used to drive a 911 Coupe, then a 911 Cab. Sold the Cab to pay cash for the pool my kids wanted. Now I drive a top of the line black Land Rover LR3 (great car BTW), which is my daily driver. If I were to get a Z, I'd pass the LR to my wife (who wouldn't mind at all). So I'm wondering what statement would I be conveying were I to show up in a Z.

Yeah, I wouldn't sweat that. I'm in court 3 days a wk, and I'm finally driving something that I feel comfortable going to court in. Before I drove a somewhat modified Prelude, and although I still love that car, which explains why I held on to it for so long, I clearly outgrew it and was in fact somewhat embarasses to be showing up in court in it.

I plan to do close to nothing to the Z, I am actually very much looking forward to driving a "stock" car for a while, albeit one that kicks as*. I think the PG color model looks very classy. I also had a long discussion with a somewhat older atty who is very much into cars, this was before I bought the Z. He too was suggeting a Porsche, but was very enthused when I recntly told him I got the Z.

Poster above mr is correct, plenty of older attys pull up to court in Porsches. Finally, I know a DA who bought a vert 350 about 2 yrs ago, woman around 50 yrs of age.

As long as you don't go too fast and furious on the car with mods and graphics, you'll be more than fine.

I never recommend swapping out OE tires since they are the cream of the crop for uniformity. It is common practice in the industry to send the best uniformity tires to OE and rest are down streamed for consumer sale. If the tire line is not designed for OE use, then chances are better for after market uniformity since the best aren't sent to the OE customer. Having said that, there are some non OE tires that are better trade offs for traction and treadwear since rolling resistance isn't a top requirement for acceptance.

Bridgestones will be left on car until worn out.
