Forged Fail: ZdayZ Airstrip Ban

Forged Fail: zDayz Airstrip Ban - Vendor Reviews - GT-R Life

Well that sucks.

theDreamer 05-14-2013 10:27 AM

Well it looks like they just stopped him from attending because the owner of Forged did not care for his comments.
Also the event is not hosted by ZdayZ people, just correlates the time table.

Cmike2780 05-14-2013 10:43 AM

Hate to say it, but I'm gonna have to side with Forged on this one. They have every right to dictate who they want or don't want at an event they're running. If that was my business, I'd do the same. It would be like a crazy person yelling "the food sucks" at a restaurant. The guy got his refund, now he wants to be paid for hotel cost, gas, tires and the inconvenience? wtf? This sounds more like revenge, not some problem with a vendor of product or service. Forged f'ck up with that other stuff, but this just reeks of some guy crying over something that didn't go his way.

Sharif@Forged 05-14-2013 10:46 AM

My two replies:

Andrew, this is not an official ZDAYZ event. This is a casual and friendly event that we've been doing for the past 5 years. Although, many of your comments have been cleaned up, when a member of this community tells us that they hope we are "f'ing" this and "f'ing" that, we have to draw the line at that point. There were a lot of people that voiced their opinions without resorting to threats and profanity.

I am not disallowing Andrew because of comments he made about Forged. I am disallowing him because he made threats and profane personal attacks against Forged. That said, his car, and everyone else, are welcome to participate. If Andrew wants to call and discuss with me, we are open to allowing him to participate as well. I understand that tensions have been pretty high lately, and I too, have said some things I later regretted.

KaienZ34 05-14-2013 10:49 AM

Well I hope it's still a go when we get there on Wednesday.

I believe it is still a go. Just sucks really wanted to see the Alpha12 GTR run. Too bad we all just can't get along.... for a few days at least.

Haboob 05-14-2013 10:56 AM

When is this event? Tomorrow?

Why not give him ample time to be able to cancel hotels, etc. rather than waiting 24hrs before the event (or days that most people get there)?

Sure you're upset, but it also seems like you're twisting the knife and saying **** you, now you're stuck with hotel bills that are pointless.

You're only digging a deeper hole for yourself and company, that's for sure.

Gotta learn somehow to handle that power, right? Might as well jump right into the frying pan! :bowrofl: :driving:

I mean, how hard could it be? Paddle shifts, AWD, and computers... easy-peasy.

yea i mean the actual theroy of gas to the floor and pull paddle then repeat is true but with that much power AWD still can slide around and not have traction. it's still work and skill needed to keep 1000AWHP or whatever he has going in a straight line properly :tiphat: but i am up for the challenge

Also....IBTL

Though, I wouldn't see why you would ban them.

When they get to your event you can basically say that they are full of it, because they'll sit there and bash you over and over, yet still pay you money to attend your event.

Discredit's said person's POV.

Yep if you had any real problems with FP. I doubt you would want to give them any more money. And if running on the air strip is something you just have to do then keep your mouth shut, pay them money, run your car, and be happy. That is neither the time nor place to hash things out. It will make you be the jackass. Especially if the other party handles the situation cordially while attending their event.

 They had over a year to build the car and a seemingly blank check. :icon08:

Boeing builds a 747 in 4-5 months from start to finish...

I think it's a case of poor time management and milking the customer for all they could get. Then when the customer wised up they panicked and threw stuff together.

That or they were totally incompetent and/or lazy. They also had a lot of turnover during this "build", which should say something else about the company too.

nah dont worry. i read both sides and yea i can see where both can be wrong and right. after reading that the guy with the busted GTR from them and that he rushed into the turbo upgrad with RHD designed JUN turbo kit i can see why that work was so botched. but then again if youre that big of a shop and do this work a lot i think you could do a better job than what they did.

soooo in the end they are both wrong and made mistakes. neither one handled it correctly but also this isnt the topic of the thread :bowrofl:

While I know the price #'s were inflated (Really, who is stupid enough to drop that kind of cash into an $80k car in the means that his story portrays?).

Sharif "disputes" the time frame, yet never gives one of his own.

Was this an "orchestrated take down by TSM"? Who knows, maybe, but it seems a bit childish.

The pictures don't lie about the shoddy work, but then again - it could have been done by someone else and pictures taken after then...

I don't know, the whole thing that gets to me is this "time frame" situation. It shouldn't take that long to get a build like this done. If it was, say, bring it in for the weekend, do some work, take it back, and so on... yes I could understand. But he said, "Here are the keys!" and just left it. Three months, tops is what I would expect (unless the parts are truly back ordered, then again - still wouldn't be over a year).

All in all, Forged has had its reputation tarnished. If it was done by TSM, then it was successful. Though, I'm hoping it wasn't, because if it gets out that it was - TSM is thoroughly ******.

Red__Zed 05-15-2013 11:02 AM

Shoddy work is shoddy work.

Most of the rest of the handling is actually pretty good for the car industry. Customer service is generally terrible (compared to what folks are used to) on anything close to a large build.

If you want it done right, do it yourself.
If you want it done fast, do it yourself.

After reading and typing all of that, I opened my mind up a bit and can see where you're coming from, edub.

However, a lot of what is being said is hearsay and we can only go by what was provided (time frame and photo's).

Thankfully, I don't think I'll ever have to make the decision of which of these companies to use as 1) I'm on the other side of the continent and 2) I don't think I'm ever going to do anything this significant to my vehicle (present or future).

Yay for me! :icon17:

The GTR owner never once claimed he spent 250K on the build, Jalopnik and other folks that failed to read the thread are the only people claiming that.
