I think he did just that. Does he sing on any of his early stuff? Anyway, I think his first two albums are very good. Maybe because I bought them in the 70's in my stoner days...

IIRC, he played keyboards and other instruments for APP but only did backing vocals. Not sure about his solo stuff.

He's not really bad, just not my kind of music - a little too "artsy" for my taste. He does have a few songs that I wouldn't hit the next button on. Eve was the only LP of his that I bought but I don't remember getting the CD.
