Rush - Working Man
Rush - Working Man
One of my favorite songs. |
^^^ Funny enough, I just got back from Canada
Latest ep on heavy rotation for me... sorta shoegazer/garage. I dig it. Also lots of fun... Annnnd, if you like the idea Siouxsie Sioux funneled through Robert Smith if he played with Joy Division before Ian Curtis checked out... |
...after mentioning stomu yamash'ta's GO lp on the latest alphabet thread yester., the groups "live in paris" came up in the zed this morn.---features stevie win wood on vocals/keys-my man, mikey shrieve on drums- and big al di meola on gitter...
the song(s): surf spin/time is here/winner loser...circa '76...heady/spacey/rock-funk with a touch of japanese finesse... |
...as is my wont to say "wont" cuz of the dichotomy of what i want/"wont" opposed to "won't" is a delicious play-on-words as is my hopeful wont, at times...i bought yet another japanese disc to hear the hopeful improvement in sound...alas, the clarity is better then i remember; the louder, better sonic sounder blast is not...
talkin' 'bout steppenwolf's "monster" and the title track: 'monster/suicide/america'---very remindful of the same shat we've got our asses into, globally, since the 'nam...poignant, powerful, prophetic... |

When I first heard this song it actually brought a tear of joy to my eye. I have already pre-ordered this album and have tickets for their October show in Denver. Kerry King may not dig them, but he would probably think I am a complete fruitcake if he took a gander at my playlist on my iPod. Slayer are metal gods, but Ghost is as much metal as they and their grooves are just as heavy IMO.

Now for some good ole growly, double-bass metal:
|
jis got malo's "dos" in the mail via japan...as is usually always the case, very bright, loud, clear sound...pricey, butt, precious, to some degree...
|
Whitesnake baybee
|
last night: jo jo gunne's "take it easy"...NOT the eagle's version...much better rocker by part of the 'deep purple' spin off...the gitter bridge into about 2:30 in is one my faves, albeit somewhat short...great tune circa '72...
