imo, the D40 is a very limiting camera and should avoided unless the buyer intends to only use it as it is and not intend to buy more glass down

imo, the D40 is a very limiting camera and should avoided unless the buyer intends to only use it as it is and not intend to buy more glass down the road. the XS and XSi however can use all of canon's lenses (with AF) which is nice, plus they are kitting them with the 18-55 IS lens which isn't a bad thing either. it's not the best lens in the world but it's not bad either
