lol I have an iPhone... and I hate Apple. So it has to be jailbroken, and I refuse to use the cloud or iTunes. I think I might hate AT&T more, but I've got the grandfathered unlimited plan still. Since I use a good bit of data via phone tethering, I really don't want to change plans.

I'm in the same boat. I have a grandfathered unlimited Data plan for Verizon, so unless I wanna start a new contract (fuq that) I have to buy new phones at retail price.

AT&T lets me upgrade my phone and start a new 2 yr contract w/o altering my plan structure. I had good experience with Verizon years ago and want to switch back, but I think all cell phone companies just plain suck.

Uh, iPhone 5 is $600 for the 16GB. $825 after tax for the 32GB here in Phx. (yeah, that's what I bought, 0% interest for 12mos though).

Or did they drop the price after I bought it? I usually tend to drive prices down once I buy something.

I used to have ATT, but I had to switch to verizon because ATT got signal everywhere in Phx, except my apt. After a year of missed/dropped calls and texts taking forever to send/receive. I just had to switch. And I don't think Verizon will let me get a new phone at discount prices without starting a new (metered) rate plan.

1. They might have been that expensive when they first came out, but you never buy a phone in the first 6 months. You let all the fanbois get them and then they drop the price.

2. Where are you looking? If you pay full price for a phone, you got rapededed.

I just bought through the Apple store, because they offered the 0% and Verizon didn't (same price).

I had to buy a new phone in Jan. My Thunderbolt wouldn't even let me use 4G (or any data) and Verizon refused to fix it and we were refused the next OS deployment too.

I thought about trying somewhere like eBay, but I have trust issues with strangers and anything over $20... esp. since I couldn't be 100% sure I was buying an iPhone for Verizon until I received it.

I just bought an iPhone back in Jan.

I'm not a huge fan of Apple, but I was having nothing but issues with my HTC Android (yeah, probably an HTC issue and not Android), but also didn't want to get stuck in the "you have an 'old' phone, so we're not going to update your Android OS to the latest."
