on the health front

:: on the bookkeeping I got out of public accounting, but when I was in it, It was 0 bookeeping. Now I work in industry (private accounting) and my work is maybe 20% bookkeeping and the rest is creating budgets, analyzing financial performance, and closing books/creating financial statements. so there will usually be a little bookkeeping involved.

Yeah, my wife is so ridiculously happy with her new job. Public accounting just wasn't fun. And her current employer isn't large enough to really require a lot in the way of analyzing except basic fundamentals of running a business (like you don't let your managers buy thousands of dollars of soft drinks each year for himself and the employees - especially when none of the other companies get to do this). She definitely does a good bit of bookkeeping for the subsidiary companies, but she is really more just working under the current CFO to prepare to take over since he wants to retire soon

They're not exactly quick, I hear Soon, though, good sir. Soon

Thanks, she has passed it once already a while back, but of course, it has since expired. She has to pass REG and FAR before September, which is of course a blackout month, so she'll have May until she takes the test in August for FAR.

Hi all!! how goes it? sunny and 80 here today! and the Z is waiting on my azz in the parking lot
I'm only ever late to work. It's been 3 years since my last, and only, vacation so I'm in IDGAF mode.

Sitting here thinking about how I can help the West victims. Might go visit a blood bank and make a monetary donation today. One of our fellow Z owners up there has most likely been up all night tending to victims at the hospital he works at. I've been trying to reach him to see if he needs anything like food or coffee sent his way.

I'm in a similar situation as your wife and definitely enjoying the transition from Public. Working ridiculous tax season hours was just not for me. I like work life balance.

I would say your wife is fine then for this test

I think one of the main reasons she is having better success at the exam this time around is because her stress level at work is so much lower. That and the hours are much shorter for half the year. Her former employer kept pushing for her to get her CPA license, but then when it came time to take her tests and she asked off for the weekend prior to her test date (or god forbid, the Fri before), they were completely unwilling to work with her It got really frustrating, and I'm glad she has moved on - everyone is happier now

same here. It was really tough to study for the exams. (though I passed all of them while working in public )

Stress kills job motivation so I'm glad she got to place she feels better at.
