I put everything back together and tightened by hand for now. Torquing down tomorrow. I think I read that the Sway bars need to be torqued with all 4 wheels on the ground, can anybody confirm?

 great!! Sorry, no help on torque Q ;)

I have never torqued the sway bars under load and I have swapped out at least 17 sets over the years with no issues.

Yes. Danegrey has 305s on his. I asked the same thing. They fit!

kenchan 05-21-2013 09:27 PM

wow 305's... pss is softer sidewall, you sure you want to go that wide? im sure they 'fit' but fitting and fitting correctly is kinda different.

on my 10.5" wheel (sport 19's are 10" width) i dont plan on going wider than 285. :)

I appreciate your opinions though. Never hurts to hear different views!

Plus they looked really good!

You could easily do 295 Ken and still be within the suggested parameters.

kenchan 05-21-2013 09:31 PM

305/30 is 91.5mm sidewall (kinda short)
305/35 is 106.8mm sidewall (tall big time)

your sport
275/35 is 96.3mm sidewall

my nismo
285/35 is 99.8mm sidewall

1cm...is that really a big deal? And why?

Auto cross effects?

Maybe i should do bridgestone ?

So much to consider:icon17:

and extra squirm. i dont need that. i like my cars feeling like all the bits work together, not against each other.

did you get new swaybar(s) as well? :)

Not this time, I like to do suspension mods one at a time so that I can "feel" each ones effect and what I like (or don't) about it. If I upgrade everything, I will not know which bit helped and how so.

yes, it is. it's not just 10mm width, you're also adding height and weight and squirm. :)

ive not driven the pss's so i can't say for sure, but im pretty sure the S04's are stiffer than the PSS.

if tirerack would get back to me when the pss 285/35/19's would be back in stock, it would be easier for me to just buy a set of 4 to replace the DW's on my weds. then i can speak from experience. :D until then, im only going by reviews and surveys at tirerack and some from this site which is informative, but not fully understandable. the pilots ive tried in the past were good tires though, still on the softer side than bridgestone. that could be a good or bad thing depending on what you want.

but if going wider on a softer sidewall tire, i can only imagine the car will not respond quickly as it should.

Ms BC -- I hate to admit this publicly, but "Mr" Kenchan is correct. 305 width are likely going to be pretty squirmy.

that's all dependant on what one is doing, and PSI levels of the tire... for drag racing, that squish, might just be optimal
