Sorry, I don't have experience with a turbo going bad. If I had to guess just from sound, I would be listening for extra noise from worn out bearings in the turbo.

Nope, rarely gets muggy here. Maybe in August with the monsoons and such, but it's not unbearable. It's not Florida. F that place.

Time to go motoring around a bit in the Z, since I haven't driven it today... I shall return.

:hello: Ms BC!! Sounds like you had a great track day and didn't let the weather dampen your spirits  I am looking forward to hearing some details about your driving impressions (and maybe some video?) :tiphat:

( Click to show/hide )
Did you feel like you were improving throughout the sessions? Or did you just kind of find your limit in the rain and stay within it? How many times did VDC kick on for you? Did you turn VDC off ever? :icon17: Did you enjoy the track setup? Was there a fun S-curve or crazy 90 degree turn that freaked you out every time?

I am very envious of you today and sincerely hope you get another chance at a track day in beautiful weather. Honestly, a first ever track day in the rain is a great racing break-in so to speak. I'm grateful to hear you enjoyed yourself  But the next time you are out on a course in nice weather, you will be amazed at how much quicker you can accelerate and how much faster you can brake and how much more grip you have through the turns. You'll practically be a pro! :driving:

It's time to rack up more Delta miles and Marriott points. Geesh.

I am off to Los Angeles at 6 am and then to Compton for the week. At least I am staying by the airport so I don't need to worry about getting my rental car jacked or me stabbed.

Have a great night and a good week, everyone. (You too, Mr. Kenchan)

Ha. No.

I am spending the week with a car floor mat manufacturer, believe it or not. I am working with their team on demand forecasting, multisite inventory management, replenishment strategies and factory build schedules. These guys make and sell more than 1.5 billion dollars worth of floor mats each year. It boggles the mind.

Compton has changed -- it is bad. The first time I went to the client we literally had to drive around the police-tape perimeter as they had a murder in the parking lot the day before.
