But other than that, tires are great, very little actual scrapes or damage, rims are flawless, and oh god that engine. :yum:

And it's GM Certified, and I bought an extra three years of extended warranty on top of that.

are they gonna get the fly out?

you gonna repaint? and first mod? :stirthepot:

I'm not getting rid of those wheels. I love the "spyder" wheel for that car.

I might powder coat them, though. Not sure I'm a fan of chrome.

I tested it again on my drive to my buddies house.

If I pull it out of gear (clutch in of course) and hold it, not allowing it to go to TDC it won't SRM.

If I let it go to TDC it blips the throttle. The amount depends on the speed I'm going, obviously.

Haboob 04-28-2013 12:47 AM

^ which I realized JAR answered in a previous post. I hadn't gotten that far in my reading yet. :icon17:

Great UFC fights tonight, but then nothing going on after. :( So bored sitting at home on a Saturday night. :icon17:

That's why I don't really use SRM anymore. When I bought the car I thought it would be awesome (and it is - but only in certain circumstances that aren't common to DD). My wife hated it and turned it off when it was her DD. I found that, while useful in traffic, it was more annoyance fighting the rev match. Now that it's my DD, I find myself very rarely using it except when I want to be lazy on my downshifts or not worry about my rusty heel-toe in racing applications (none of which happen very often as I try to stay out of traffic, I almost never limit brake in this car, and I would prefer to unrust my heel-toe racing skills even if I do push it like that).

Oh and I LOVE the Mutumbo finger wag reference :bowrofl:

If you're in 4th or 6th gear it will always rev when you move the shift knob out of gear - how much just depends on where the RPMs are when you put the clutch in. But then if you start to move it even remotely towards another gate, it will try to rev match again (i.e. 6th gear out of gear might not rev much to match 5th gear but then if you let the shift knob go back to neutral position, it will rev match again for 4th or even 3rd gear). I enjoy coasting in neutral to slow down from 6th when I come up on a highway stop light (neutral as soon as the light turns red way up ahead then shift to whatever gear needed as the light turns greens). SRM messes this up big time.

It depends on the gate and the RPMs you were in prior to going into neutral, but generally speaking, yes, this happens.

That's what I do

Yeah, the SRM does bug me, but it's so nice to not have to rev match, esp. in traffic on the way home from work and such.

And I can't physically heel-toe with my knee, so that part is out of the question.

Yeah, I actually have a similar problem but I blame the type of gas pedal for the reason I can't do a real heel-toe. My knees do get in the way, but I think I could adjust the seat and steering wheel for a racing application if I had to. I blame the gas pedal instead because I find it difficult to blip high enough (position-wise) on the pedal to actuate it. I have to rotate my foot excessively to get my heel up that far since it is incredibly difficult to feather the gas pedal when you're pressing at the bottom of the pedal where the fulcrum point is. For DD heel-toe, I generally just fat foot it with my size 13 boots :icon17:

:icon17:

I can't physically turn my foot on my right leg far enough that direction to heel-toe properly.

My knee functions though, so I'm not going to go in and have surgery on this one (most likely full knee replacement).

I've had surgery twice on my left, I don't want to go through it again if I don't absolutely have to. :ugh2:

Nice! I assume you are sporting some daisy dukes and outside washing the cars while playfully splashing yourself with the hose :icon17: :lustfullydaydreaming:
