Right when I was going to head out for some fresh air she messaged me that she just got out of class (makes sense), BUT she has to go visit her dad [at work] for an emergency and apologized asking for a rain check. I played it cool and told her I was going to go out. That's it, no contact... let her do the talking. I don't have pictures since I got rid of FB months ago. She's cute, but that's it. Nothing out of the ordinary.

Yup, dealt with too many flakes... hence, I pretty much don't take anyone seriously, which is least stressful. Last year I threw a tantrum on a different girl who flaked out on the last minute (lesson learned... don't let any of this stuff affect me). What's really funny is whenever I ask her out for lunch or dinner her response is "only if you pay."

@ZKraken22 - I missed the Spring Break trip to MKC, but I wouldn't mind a short trip to KC to hang out with you guys once it warms up!

First off, what most people don't realize is that nurses get hit on a lot. If she's setting aside any amount of time for you, she's interested. Think about it, she's in a constant setting where a lot of guys find it easy to strike a conversation. (FYI, nurses have seen and heard it all to a point where nothing really grosses them out. ) Nurses have a busy schedule, but it's usually just clustered differently from most people which is why it's a bit tricky to schedule dates... even with friends. Unless they do overtime, it's usually 4, 10-hour days a week. Sounds simple, but you basically need to know what days she has off and work it out. If she's still not hanging out with you, she's not interested.

:iagree: my wife is a CNA and would work 4 12's.. and now she is a full time Nursing school student, plus she works 2 12s a week...

Thanks... it's nice not to go emo and blow up her phone expressing my thoughts. In my head I do have such thoughts since I can be pretty straight forward lol. I'm pretty happy to just play it cool and leave it be.

If I get bored, I can always drive to some bar and have drinks and talk to random people.

Here's what she missed out:

sounds like you need to date a psychologist :stirthepot: :bowrofl::bowrofl::bowrofl:

at least you contained your rage issues this time! points for that

Haha well here's an update. No, I still haven't had the chance to hang out with her lately. Outside of working at the hospital, she works at her aunt's nail shop (extra money to pay for her courses at a private university). She planned on taking today off to cram for upcoming tests, and she also wanted to have dinner with me. Then her aunt demanded she come in to work till close, so there's barely any time afterward for us to hang out.

As it turns out, she's currently working on a PhD and would like to become a surgeon one day. So I can understand she has a lot going for her besides family priorities. One thing that convinces me she's not stringing me is that she calls and we chat at least once a day. Other girls only call when they are bored and need someone to take her out (and then that's it).

In terms of high maintenance, her wanting a purse of a certain price range is like us wanting a set of wheels or engine upgrades. She says she ends up getting stuff she likes on her own and never expects her man to do it for her. Just like us, we get stuff ourselves instead of expecting the lady to get it for us.

At this point I'm just going with the flow while looking around for other potential interests. :)

Hey Digi,

If you'll cook that again I'll come over!

Seriously, my wife's in her last year of Nursing School, she literally hasn't had a life for the last 5 years. It's tough being a Nurse but she want's to help people who need it the most. She decided to get her BSN because that's becoming the minimum these days. She finishes this December. She plans on working a couple of years to pay of her loans, they're upwards of 45K!
I can sympathize with your situation and a busy woman in medical field and education etc.

DIGItonium 04-12-2013 03:11 PM

Thanks! She's definitely a busy bee. She bailed on me again the other night saying she's been up for 24 hours straight and wanted to go home and sleep. I've not heard much from her since, but she did mention that she's almost done with the semester. [shrugs]
