Here is a slice of my life: Kate is at a meeting of laboratory animal scientists for the UC system in Pismo Beach until tomorrow -- she could not escape it as she is a big wheel. I am cool with this because she’ll be there at the big ceremony in Arlington a few months from now.

Today I am flying to Long Beach to attend Dad's memorial service. Oh yeah, I am flying with Brianna and Faye (Colin's fiancé and my granddaughter) as well as ex-wife number 1 (militant lesbian but loved my Dad).

Colin and Taylor (my sons) are driving down there (about 410 miles) in Colin's 1983 Volvo 244 (modded).

My oldest sister (childless yet knows more about parenting than any person living or dead) refuses to attend any sort of services because she thinks that people only go to funerals and such out of guilt and that they should have spent time with the person before they were dead (even though she almost never visited the folks because she feel slighted about how she was raised).

This all seems normal to me.

Meh. Such is the life of an american family!!! I love being able to participate on the fringes and watch faye grow...and colin and briana as parents!! Being associated ever so tenuously w a person of Kates caliber is exciting. You have an interesting and obviously loving family, even if they all have their own agendas. They are YOURS!! Gotta luv 'em ;)

Yeah, you gotta love 'em -- you don't have to like them all though. :icon17:

A slice of my life:

I woke up, drank coffee and drove to work. It was so exciting that it blew my pants off. :)

Mundane is all relative. I bounce from city to city so much this time of year that catching planes has become my mundane.

Anyway!
That's quite a project you've got on your hands.

I'd gladly trade my life with a 9-5'er for a month so I can do some "normal" things on the weekend like chill out at home and tinker in my garage.
My Miata needs a water pump, and I'm planning to do the timing belt and camshaft seals while I'm at it. I just need to find a free weekend! :icon14:

We need pics to answer that. Actually, we need video.

Lol no, my dogs are maybe a 10th of the size of that one, they can barely fit one tennis ball in their mouth hahaha

In your defense, neither did her original behavior, so it's excusable for you to take pics and video while standing directly in front of her saying "oh yeah, smile for the camera baby. MAKE LOVE to the camera. That's it girl, work it. Just like that."

You know you're addicted when:

You roll the windows down in 40+ degree weather, just to hear your engine breath @ 2-4.5k RPM. :)
