I got the shift knob in the morning while I was at work. I picked up a strap wrench on my way home for lunch and it took about 20 min. Removal took about 5 min. The rest was screwing on the new knob and unscrewing several times to get the pattern facing the correct way

Did you use a little bit of locktite on the new knob?

Nope  which is why the pattern regularly rotates now and irritates me :ugh2: I should do that now that you mention it :icon17:

mr.zman- on my TWM knob, i did use a tad of loctite just enough for it from coming loose and let it dry over night. just a little dab of blue is all it takes. :)
