I can recall listening to 8-track while getting ready for elementary school and riding in my grandparents Buick Regal!

Can you recall what the first cassette you purchased was?

Mine was the Police - Synchronicity

Fire 01-07-2013 03:33 PM

Pint just think what listening to 80's music does for ya. Hammer time.

I don't know where they are but I won the American Top 40's for a couple weeks in the early 80's from the radio station. They where heavy records.

80's make me happy but I wasn't old enough to actually enjoy them. Maybe I was dancing in the womb?

happytheman 01-07-2013 03:35 PM

Whew! Two Sam Adams Winter Ales later and I'm good and ready to board my next flight! :)

Fire 01-07-2013 03:36 PM

Don't remember first cassette but I had a Flock of Seagulls record album.

As long as you have her out of your thinking for a while and move on with your life, changing number is only an option.

Last year I got a so-called "Best of 2011 album" CD (Chinese songs)... it has about 18 songs...

I press "Play"..... then the next thing I remember I did to the player was press the "Next" button 17 times then the "Eject" button.

All done within 5 mins...

Where's that CD now....???

I don't know....

happytheman 01-07-2013 03:54 PM

Boarding for O'Hare.

So I'm on the fence about taking my car to get painted at the shop where I got the estimate. The majority of reviews online are negative. But so are the reviews for every other shop in Austin. :ugh:

hummm... does your insurance have a recommended shop? any antique car restoration places in your area? those shops usually have very artistic painters that can do some really nice color matching work.

white pearls are VERY HARD to match color.

What about it next closest city? Houston/Dallas?

Rental car + slight drive might be better than shitty service/paint? :ugh2:

Caliper? Just do it... at the very least they're a major shop and will honor their work.

I picked up an extra two washers for my power steering pressure hose since I haven't decided whether to siphon it or do a full drain.

Also, I meant to ask the dealer but just forgot: I've seen several pictures of a magnetic drain plug for the rear differential, and I just wanted to check whether it was a stock piece. If anyone knows, there's a rep in it for you

No recommended shops, just a network where I have more access to monitor the progress.

Too far out of my way to even try. Can't afford to take the day off work to run out for an estimate, take another day to drop it off and another to pick it up. Plus I don't have rental coverage on my insurance yet so spouse would have to help me out.

Well which is riskier, having to ask the spouse for assistance, or getting it done by a less than reputable shop for them to mess it up and having to do it over again... :ugh2:

There's a reason I drove to VA to go to the shop that was Highly recommended. The quality of work made it worthwhile.

I hope no matter where you go, they do an excellent job and she comes out looking the way you want.

that's unfortunate...

Uninsured motorist coverage is a necessity in Texas...
( Click to show/hide )
I've been rear ended at full speed turning into a parking lot, the entirety of which was witnessed by a cop sitting in his car in said parking lot. She did not speak any English, she did not have a license or ID, and of course, no insurance. When the Spanish speaking officer arrived on the scene, he took her statement and then came over to me. She was extremely aggressive and claiming that I cut her off and then slammed on my brakes to turn into the parking lot. I had been in the lane for a good while - at least three lighted intersection spaced over a half mile or so. They essentially didn't even take my statement because the witnessing police officer stepped in and explained that she simply plowed into me when I was turning.

What's unfortunate? I can always add it in for $5/month. I'm confused....:icon14:
