Did you notice a difference in stopping power?

Hard to say if they make a difference on their own. I did those and stainless lines along with a fluid change at the same time.

As long as it makes you feel better!

Ok, I'm having to look that up now! :tiphat:

Edit: Interesting! A Russian Imperial Stout. Yummy.

Hmm, mayhaps I will check out the SS lines as well. :)

Edit: That's nice for only an extra $100. What fluid did you go with, Motul?

I went with the ATE Super Blue from Z1.
It made the fluid change easy since there was a colour change ;)

Yes. I received a set myself. Some people were having fitment issues. The hood would bulge slightly after install. I have not installed mine to confirm this.

Hmmm...
I thought this was the set of struts that did not cause bulges.

Excellent! Before you install them, paint the inside edge - about 3/4 of an inch - of the rotor and all the slots and cross-drilled holes. Best way is with Rustoleum BBQ paint (1,000°). I used a foam pad on the rotor surface and q-tips for the slots and rotors.

Baer and Jar had an issue, and I think Zman8 had an issue with the hood bulge as well.

You are correct sir.

Nice custom detailing there, sir!
And I thought I was tricky in painting my spacers to match...

You are correct sir.

:iagree: It is worth the effort to not have the rust-ring.

I went with Quiet tech pads, Mutol fluid and premium ss lines. Just went on a long, hard cruise today and had no fade.

One thing though, if you chnage pads, you will have different pedal feel. I thought my brakes weren't bled properly, but that wasn't the case. Two friends have exactly the same set-up and noted the same thing. They both report it gets firmer as the pads work in.

Honestly, it's so easy, it wouldn't be worth the effort for a thread. PM me when you get your stuff and I'll walk you through it if needed.

So the "inside" edge is closest to the black hats, correct? Did you paint the black hats as well?

Correct, closest to the hat. You do not need to paint the hat.

You can still do it luna. You don't even need to take the wheels off.

Yeah mine bulged quite a bit, especially the driver's side, and they started leaving marks on the plastic battery and brake master covers. Gale, let us know how yours are when you install them.

Consider yourself lucky. I wonder how it's inconsistent like that. Are our hoods aligned differently I wonder?

No issues here, nor with the five or six friends I know who have installed them. Good point about a possible alignment issue.

That's very strange... I have the opposite, 3 others in Chicago all had the same issue. maybe it's the climate.

Yeah, it would have to be. I mean, it's not like Z1 is manufacturing each set of struts differently, right? It has to be hood alignment. :(
