Each lenses have an optical center which has the least prism effect, we call that the focal point of the lens.

When the lenses are being cut and mounted onto the frame, we have to decenter the lenses thus the position of that focal point will align in front of the pupil of the eyes when the person is wearing the glasses.

Depends on the prescription, the 'X' mini-meter off from the focal-point-distance will generate an 'X' amount of prism effect, thus the person will feel like 'swimming' when wearing the glasses.

Regarding your experience, your eyes are completely normal (I believe... :icon17:), that pair of eyeglasses..... most likely not... :ugh2:

(of cause not young like 9 years old...)

BTW... make sure keep the usual contact lenses wearing hours between 8 - 10 hours only... no matter what brands of soft lenses... for the health of the cornea...

8-10hrs a day? dang, ive been WAAAAY over that since.... hummm..30yrs ago? :icon14: im usually wearing my contacts 17-18hrs a day. :ugh2:

Anything over 12 - 14 is a big no no… 17 - 18 hrs can have serious damage done on your cornea in long term. It could affect the possibility of having laser surgry done on your eyes too.

Try to keep it as short as possible.. :tiphat:

I wish I was retired -- I clock about 55 - 60 hours per week -- but at weird times.

Lets see........I usually have mine in for ~15-16 hours a day. Can't help it. You'll be aghast to know I used to wear them for months at a time when I was like 19. :ugh2:

I'm going with the ICL when the FDA approves the Toric ones for use in the states.

Edit: Oh damn! I just did a quick search, and come to find out.....it's approved now! :happydance:

I'm ready to dump 7k on surgery! :tup:
