Speaking of brake jobs, does anyone else think it's weird that the rotors on the Z are starting feel slightly warped at 30K miles? Its not terrible, and I have to brake pretty hard over 50 mph to notice it. But I've never had rotors warp before they were pretty much ready to be replaced anyway. Plus I started noticing a brake squeal at extremely low speeds with very light braking (i.e. braking on slight down slope or at a speed bump or uneven intersections). Its kind of irritating...

mr.alcheng- yah, the bins are still there. x2 but i decided to only drive my G on nice days to work so i wont have to QD the car as often...which gives me some space to put away a folding bike next to the G. :p

yah, im definitely be keeping an eye open on amazon the next few months and grab it at the lowest price. i want the bigger 7" screen vs my 5.8" in the Z right now. my G has a 7" screen and it's a night/day difference when i get in my Z.

i bought a new '12 fitsport in august as my beater and did some light mods on it and driving that pretty much everyday now that it's winter. it's MT and for what it is, it's fun to drive and drives nice (swift springs and dws). hope to keep the thing running for 10yrs total.

nice!

hey, ms.pint, i noticed EvoR is selling the slim sport CF side mirrors similar to the craftsquare... have u looked into that? it's not exactly like the one i have on my Z, but i think the mirror housing is a replica of the craftsquare.

the only drawback i see on the evor one is that the entire neck and mirror housing is jointed at the base. that's a lot of weight and air that the little joint has to support at speed. you might need to adjust often if not fully locked down.

but if fully locked down, it will make it easier for the joint or mirror housing to break if someone hits it with a purse or oversized butt, or garage wall or something.

Yes, I am currently waiting for reviews on them from the first group of buyers. I posted here a few days ago but everyone was trying to talk me into the craftsquare that I cannot afford. Jay at EVOR says he speed tested them but I don't really trust his word after the whole Z emblem fiasco. I'll probably pull the trigger if the reviews come back great.

I cant wait for spring either since the z will have quite a few more mods by that time. :excited:

Im glad you're enjoying the fit and want it to last 10 years. Do you drive it spiritaly? Im not sure if dd's survive 10 yesrs of spirited driving :p

I may consider the fit sport when my scion lease ends 2013. Ill also look at the 2013 new golf, next gen cooper s, 500 abarth and the fiesta st or even focus st. I like the scion xd but they are done making this model after this year.

yah, hope they turn out well for you. having the smaller mirror and raising the seat will most-likely take care of the visibility issue for good. :)

i'd expect the evor one to also have a convex contoured mirror so that your blind spots are all gone too. on my craftsquare, i dont shoulder check cause i dont need to. i dont even move my head when checking driver side. :p

i only drive it spiritedly once in a while and most of my time in the Fit, im just listening to music and relaxing in it. the car feels best when not pushed. i actually enjoy driving it while running errands.

after checking out many different hatches i settled on the fitsport. it's by far best bang for the buck. and the MT's are actually pretty quick unlike the AT ones. not street racing or anything, but i did pull along a BRZ the other weekend and my Fit was actually faster by 1/2 car length from a stop into an expressway and the guy could not reel me in while in 2nd gear up to 60mph. that's when we both backed off the throttle.

2013's the last year honda's making these in japan for US market. after that, it's going to be made in mexico and the ones currently sold in canada are made in china. :)

kenchan 11-28-2012 03:46 PM

which do you like better? dark wheels...

light color wheels... (never mind my camera bag in the background.)

Ken, come to the dark side! (of which I am not a member of yet :p)

daisuke149 11-28-2012 03:51 PM

on a light car. I like darker wheels with a light caliper / highlights.

on a dark car, a wheel that pops is nice. Like orange wheels on Mikes black 370z.

hummm... im going to need new tires on the nismo set next summer so im thinking of getting RE11's but not sure if i want to wrap them on the weds (dark wheels) or on the nismo's... while the DW's on the weds are fine, i think im going to sell the tires. i want firmer tires since my suspension is stock.

kenchan 11-28-2012 03:56 PM

you guys do the steering lock disable yet? ive not done mine but i have a spare lock, so not in a big rush to do it.

i see a lot of people with this problem now that the car and locks are getting older. it's a matter of when not if. :D

Better bang for buck then 200 hp 217 ft lbs, 2300 lbs, 6 mt, recaro seat, fiesta st for 20k ?? Lol ;)

ill see later next year. Lots of new models coming to the market (golf, mini, fiesta st). i want a car that's practical and reliable but also fun to drive. ill keep in mind that fit will not be made in japan anymore.

Is your fit 5 speed?

No, it's called saving money to get what you want. Sure it might take longer, but the results will be much more enjoyable.

Mr.kenchan, I honestly like the NISMO wheels better, cos 5-spokes concave is my personal preference.

But... I will suggest you stay with the Weds since it adds personality to your Z.. which is a good thing...
