I'll be safe. I'm at higher ground with my dog and my cars.

Hoping nobody burgles me.

RandyD 10-30-2012 07:23 AM

looks like the worst is over here. hope you get back to a non-flooded house shado.

FPenvy 10-30-2012 08:39 AM

hope you guys in NJ and NY are doing ok. so far here in western PA we have just had steady rain, high winds, some flooding, and some power outages. schools are all closed but i am still at work :shakes head: lucky little bastards lol

possibly seeing snow here later if the temp drops but as it stands now we just got a lot more rain coming and more flooding. luckily i live on top of a giant hill so i am safe from flooding.

shadoquad 10-30-2012 08:42 AM

Flood warning will last a couple of days. Travelers Insurance is refusing to cover any damage over a technicality between them and my mortgage company. Eff them in the ay

Mike 10-30-2012 08:45 AM

thats bs! Do you have flood insurance too?

hope it all works out

No. They'll just lose my business. I mean, I'm pretty sure I could pay you $200 a month to not cover me for flood dmg

cow 10-30-2012 10:43 AM

Don't underestimate the power of bad publicity.

nmjaxx9 10-30-2012 10:49 AM

apparently all the media said was not true in CT, no downed lines, homes destroyed, only minimum rain. Seems the news casters were wrong for the 100th time. :icon17:

hope the same for nyers heard they got hit hard have a few ppl down there.

3.7 ZPA 10-30-2012 11:34 AM

Long Island, Queens, and lower Manhattan got the worst of it. All the streets around my building were flooded last night, but the water receded by early this morning. I checked out the office in Mt. Vernon, and there was no damage....just no power. Lots of debris all over the Bronx and a lot of traffic lights are out. I will not be back on the roads, because all this will cause some major stupidity.

Really? Looks like the storm is over from where I am. Just a light drizzle here right now.

It's not the rain. It's the storm surge resulting from the accumulated rain and wind driving tides north up the bay.

Shouldn't be terribl, but who knows.

RonRizz 10-30-2012 05:36 PM

We got through with small scrapes and bruises. Couple of trees down in driveway (2 days off of work)
Prayers for all those not as fortunate.

eastwest2300 10-30-2012 06:08 PM

What a crazy azz storm, thank goodness there was no lightning, that woulda made it twice as bad.

Or locusts....good grief. I saw photos today that made me gasp! Omg!

LakeShow 10-30-2012 09:29 PM

Glad we were able to make it out this storm. We got it pretty bad in LI. So many huge trees came down shutting down roads and power lines are on the ground. Power will be out for a while. What a storm it was!

tonybui 10-30-2012 11:00 PM

I'm glad it wasn't so bad in my area. Strong wind but no broken branches. My amuse wing stay attached :)

simota1 10-31-2012 01:28 AM

...... wait..wait. Where is mom? Dude don't tell me you forgot your mom! One of the coolest moms I know and you left her! LOL J/K. I hope you guys made out alright.

Sucks on the flood insurance BS. Me and my family endured the heartache of losing almost everything a few years ago here in GA when we had major flooding around September. My family still has not fully recovered and my parents are on pins and needles when they hear a whisper about potential for flash floods.

Dzel 10-31-2012 09:08 AM

That sucks Z, The storm has passed and still no word from AK. Making me a little nervous

nuTinmuch 10-31-2012 02:06 PM

He is probably fine, but power is only just coming back today.

6MT 10-31-2012 04:44 PM

Hmm... I guess the silence means the birth rate will probably go up then..:wtf2:

Dzel 10-31-2012 04:54 PM

RonRizz 10-31-2012 05:16 PM

I have about 18 family members that left NJ on the Explorer of the seas for a cruise to bermuda Sunday afternoon. They got tossed and turned, and alot of seasick bags, but made it to bermuda today. I've heard 80mph winds, and 30 foot seas.
Probably their last cruise ever!!!

Just an Update

I spoke to AK via text yesterday and HE and the Z our fine but his home maybe another story :(

He was not able to check in since their keeping people out from my undertsanding but hopefully he's had a chance to survey the damage.

I just wanted to let everyone he's physically fine so folks don't think the worse.

My best goes out to everyone dealing with this Storm and its aftermath
