Go to court, plead guilty, they'll cut you a deal.

Never plead guilty in California. You have 3 opportunities to beat a ticket: trial by written declaration, court trial, and appeal process. The latter two require the officer to appear in court (in contesting 4 speeding tickets, 3 times the officer did not show up and I won by default, the last time I had the law on my side).

Knowing which CVC you violated will help determine exactly what the law said you broke. Highway speed laws are different from surface street regulations.

check out Help! I Got a Ticket! It specializes in helping California drivers fight speeding tickets. It's all reading material, no books or bs to buy and it's step by step how to beat a speeding ticket. Good luck.

Not sure what CA allows you to do...but here in FL we can take an online driving course (4 hours long). You have to pay like $30 for it on top of the price of the ticket...but it prevents points from being added to your license. The down side is you can only take it once within a 12 month period or 5 times in a lifetime.

Similar here in AZ. Price of the ticket + $20 and you can only take it for one violation once every two years.

You don't have to go to court or anything - our tickets come with phone numbers and a brochure of places to call. :icon17:

Thankfully there's no lifetime limit, as I have taken the course at least 5 or 6 times (I like to span out my speeding tickets to about every two years if I get one it seems :rofl2:)

I also remember when the classes were eight hours long, man, that ruined a Sat. or Sun. Now they're either online or a four hour classroom session.

Wow thank you so much, you have no idea how much i appreciate the help.

So when you say i have 3 opportunities to beat it. You mean in the same ticket right? As in, if the written declaration fails i can always do the appeal and if that fails i can do the court trial?? In which case if all 3 fail i have to pay and go to driving school?

Ill take a look at it right now thanks a bunch!

At the end online classes might not be an option I thought that was up to the judge at that point... If u go through, ur just hoping the cop doesn't show up.

So what your saying is either i take the class and pay, OR, go with trying o fight it and risk loosing my opportunity?? Unless i ask the judge and hope he allows me?

Stupid cop >:| you know what pisses me off the most is, for years I've been driving over the speed limit and the day i wasn't intentionally driving fast i get a ticket! Lol
