Finger prints on a blued gun will cause it to rust where the finger print is. The oils in your skin contains acids that will attack blued metal. So it's best to wipe it down after every time you touch it.

I have a S&W M29-M2 44 Mag with 6.5" barrel. Showed it to a friend of mine years ago. We was eating potato chips at the time I showed the gun. After looking at it, putting it back in it's case without wiping it off. I forgot about for a month. Took it out of the case to check it out before I go to the range with it. You could see where the finger prints was, because of the rust spots. Everyplace a rust spot, was a finger print.

Not all guns are in the safe. I have a couple hidden around the house. ;)

Well yeah I forgot about that.

I think I'll need to do a good wipe down on my guns.

Thanks for the reminder Rusty, I've got to get mine out for their semi-annual PM.

Remember, a firearm has two enemies: Rust and politicians. :stirthepot:

Oil up every part of the gun and use the silicone socks to completely cover them. If you have gun cases. Put them in there after putting socks on them. About every 6 months. I will check and reoil them. I do it with the changing of the clocks.

I have been using Evadry dehumidifiers.
https://www.amazon.com/Eva-Dry-Edv-2...xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==

2 of those keep my storage area at 25-40% humidity. This is a bit too low for wood stocked weapons, but even chemically stripped, naked steel does not corrode/rust.

On another note, I've been a long-time Surefire fanatic, and just purchased a KAC QDC suppressor. It's my first non-SF centerfire suppressor, and I am anxious to get it!

My Nightforce NX8 and t he Badger C1 1.70" mount are money, as well. If you're looking for a LPVO solution, I can't recommend this combo enough!

It's going to be going on the 12.5" 5.56 SBR that the KAC QDC is slated for. Will be running a MAMS, of course.

*Excuse the stain, that is a coffee table I picked up for like $20 at a thrift store. 100% solid oak. maybe one day I'll re-finish it.

Just added this to my collection. I have wanted one of these for a few years. The right deal came up. Carrying 150rds in 6 mags.

Time for some gun porn.

Fun facts:
( Click to show/hide )
- 28.7" barrel for an overall length of 44.3" but the barrel can be locked back while being transported for an overall length of about 36" (16" barreled AR-15 with full stock is around 35")
- Sub MOA accurate
- Even though its 25lbs the bullpup layout make it easier to shoot off hand than other 50BMG rifles.
- Retails for about $12k and spare mags are $375. GM6 Lynx for sale

I've seen that video the other day on youtube. It's got one hell of a muzzle blast.

I can see it now at the range. When some idiot you know asks to shoot it. He's holding it loose, squeezes the trigger, and up with a very bad case of scope eye. Putting the scope half way through his skull. :rofl2:

Ghostvette 12-02-2019 08:06 AM

I picked up a Springfield Armory Saint AR pistol in 300 BLK. :yum::yum:

After the first of the year, it will be off to Blown Deadline for a Mandalorian cerakote job....:tup:

tvfreakazoid 12-02-2019 09:16 PM

I try not to support Springfield.
But I do have a 45acp XDM. Back in 2011
