Yes, it's quite easy. There's lots of You Tube videos on how to install it. The biggest issue I had was that the pistol was brand new. The roll pins were so frigg'n tight that I used a vice to reinstall them.

The job took me about an hour. A really good accessory to help you is an armorer's pistol plate.

The Apex kit makes the trigger awesome. Very little take-up. Great crisp break. Very short reset.

Carry is a Kimber CDP Pro II... I f*cked up thinking carrying it would be easy lol. It's kinda big.

I've never been a Kimber guy. Seen too many of them fail at competitions.

A 1911 is hard to carry. As much as I love mine, it's a pain to try and hide it. I'll stick to the plastic ones for that.

Now I can't say I've shot thousands of rounds so my info is a bit limited but after about 800 or so I have yet to have an issue. Also I have only fired 50rd of HP through it. All chambered correctly AND fired fine.

Like I said, not enough rounds to prove anything but so far so good

but yea... terrible carry gun. I wanted a 1911 carry so bad (just feels good in hand and I shoot much better with them). I think Ill go for a subcompact for the next one.

Yeah, the issues I saw were in competition, so much harder use than the average joe. I'm with you - the 1911 just feels right. Everything Browning designed does. My Hi-Power feels great too. And my 1911 will make a 1" group at 50 yards from a rest. But there's just no way to conceal it. As wrong as the Glock grip angle feels to me, it just works. The M&P feels like the designer took a Glock and molded it to fit a human hand. And it tucks away nicely, even with a light and laser.

But for the vast majority of the time I carry, it's been a .357 snubbie. You could conceal one of those while naked.

Pics or it didnt happen... lol

I think I'm gonna grab a shield. I hear its in .45 now :). I can completely conceal my kimber if I put it right in the middle of my back with my IWB Milt Sparks holster (btw if you dont have one of his holsters youre missing out!)

I've got a Kimber Ultra Carry II that hides nicely, but is a real handful to shoot. Appendix carry isn't bad, just hard to sit in the Z with it. Normally, I carry OWB strong side, shaded just past the hip.

cant sit in my car with it either lol. My BMW I was fine, but this AMG has bolstered seats that hug the sh*t out of you. Just grinds my gun into my back till its raw.

I have an aluminum frame Para USA BIG HAWG with STi Comp trigger internals. 24oz unloaded.
LOVE IT! Not one failure. It's a 15 round pistol and I still conceal it.

My carry gun for the longest time was a Colt Gov't Model 70 45ACP. I carried that when I was plain clothes security, and drove an armor car. Had very little problem concealing it under a suit or shirt that wasn't tucked in.

I got over 13,000 rounds through it. 95% of that was reloads. The biggest problem I had with it was/is the slide stop levelers. They would break at the barrel link, letting to slide and barrel come off the frame. Broke 4 of those. Lost the front sight 3 times. Needs a new barrel and bushing. The slide is loose. The whole gun needs a complete rebuild.

When I do executive protection in LA I carry under my suit jacket. That's where the thing shines.

Executive protection was fun. Got to meet a lot of stupid people who didn't want to listen for their own safety. :rofl2:

That's an understatement. Yo, they hire you but they know better than you. Don't even get me started about babysitting the kids too. Daddy hires you to watch his daughter/son. Omfg...

Like the idiots who picks fights with everyone, and wants you to finish them. One of my last details was with one of these idiots. I let him get his asss kicked. Never stepped in to save his asss. :rofl2: I worked for this idiot a few times before. I told him, "one of these days, I'm not going to step in and let the guy beat your asss". He didn't believe me.
