I remember that thing. I want no part of it.

I got it as a good carry piece for summer months, and realized I had made a huge mistake the first time I pulled the trigger.

I wish I still had mine in .38. I believe I traded it for a S&W Model 10 with a 3" heavy barrel.

Local shop has a S&W 500 snubbie with a 2.75" barrel for $1,300.

It would be a "meanie". It's one of those guns that you shoot once to get the feel of it, then clean it. Hoping you never need it. Read that a lot of people who are in the woods where grizzlies are. Pack it.

I've heard a lot of things about what people have and carry in grizzly country like Alaska. I've heard that 10mm is popular in Alaska, also .44 Mag, and so on. Personally I'd rather have my 45-70 lever gun. One thing that is for certain, you better bring a big *** gun when dealing with grizzly. :icon17:

What'd that run ya? I found an FNH .308 20" bull barrel Police Rifle with picatinny rail for $2,300. Awesome setup. Just not sure I want to spend that much when i know a $1k Remmington SPS will do the job just fine.

Or a Savage 10 FCP-SR 20" in .308 like mine for $650. So far I have replaced the scope rail with a Badger Ordnance 20 MOA scope rail ($150) because the BO one has a recoil lug, is made out of steel, and has a 20 MOA cant which the stock rail didn't. Also added a kydex adjustable cheek rest ($38) and Atlas bipod rail ($20). The scope is Nightforce NXS Compact 2.5-10x 42mm ($1940) mounted with Nightforce 30mm Ultralite Rings ($165).

I paid $260 for my Savage MKII FV-SR in 22LR. The stock is a Boyd's MKII Black Pro Varmint Stock (formally Tacticool Stock) with Bottom Metal Deluxe Kit from DPI Inc. ($175). The scope is a Bushnell Rimfire Optics 3-9 X 40 ($113) mounted with Vortex rings ($19).

Just bought an Atlas Bi-pod for my AR15. It's built solid. Got it from Midway.
