Like what Niche79 just got. It's all about how much $$$ you want to spend. Also there is the build your own route (semi-auto only of course). It not hard to build one (IMO). I built an AR-15 earlier this year. It was easy and it was awesome to build it exactly the way I wanted it. Of course I had to be different....

Nice build Vabam! Love the Noveske lower!
Isamu, I built one last year. Unfortunately, things were scarce when I built it and I didn't get everything I wanted. The best part is I can always add it later! If I could do full auto or burst I definitely would, along with some silencer options. Lucky for me I live in Illinois and those things will not be an option. :( I just stocked up on a bunch of stuff. Bought some 9mm and .223 in bulk. This Ebola thing has us a little on edge. Wanted to be ready. I also went through my bow and bought some new arrows. It's been waaaaaay too long since I have shot it. I'll upload some pics later. :) |

I use the Vortex Strikefire, and I've been very pleased with it from a bang-for-the-buck standpoint. |

Bought all the parts over time. Rough guesstimation is around $2700 with out the optics. The optics and mounts are another $2600. What are hard to see in the pics are the Noveske barrel that came with a head spaced bolt, Wilson Combat drop in trigger, and JP Silent Captured Spring buffer. If I wasn't into guns I could easily have enough money for that S30 (first gen Zs) RB26DETT engine swap project I want to do. Or have a GT-R. |

Full auto/bust builds are cost prohibitive IMO. The 1986 FOPA banned new sales of full auto and burst fire weapons to civilians after the act was enacted. All full auto/burst weapons made before then were grandfathered. This means AR-15 full auto and bust sears are $15K+ and that’s if you can find one. Most owners are holding on to their auto sears. Oh and don’t forget the NFA paper work too. Yes, you can own a full auto or burst fire weapon (except in states like IL :stirthepot: :p) but you’ll pay and arm and a leg to do so. I don’t know about you but, my finger can pull a trigger pretty fast. |
If you have an old-style ("pre-ban") M-16/AR-15 lower, conversion to auto/burst is pretty easy. Replace the bolt carrier and the trigger/selector group, then add a drop-in sear. You can find details on the Web.
The gobmint considers the sear alone to be a "machine gun" so you will need a license to legally possess/use that part, but, last time I looked, all the other parts are legal. But it's been a while since I looked, so YMMV. |
