I thought about putting in boiling water but that will be a challenge to find a tall enough pot for the barrel.
I was thinking about wrapping it up and c how well that would work taking off the cosmoline off the metal parts

For the wood stock, wrap it well in newspaper or paper towels and then put the entire thing in a black garbage bag. Put the garbage bag in strong sunlight for a few hours. The paper will wick the oil out but you may have to change dressings a few times to get all of the oil.

I really don't understand how some people can be so stupid. I was out training with my wife in the country yesterday. We happened to stop by some bathrooms at a trout fishing lake close by for some relief. The bathrooms had been really shot up by a high calibre weapon. There were holes through the cinder-block walls and through the thick metal doors. Casings were lying around the parking lot in front of the bathrooms.

Heaven help it if there were anyone inside the bathroom when these idiots were getting their rocks off. I live in what's affectionately known as red-neck country. These morons certainly did nothing to dispel that notion.

It's coming... I'm just waiting for this season to be nicer so I can put it all together and shoot outdoors all in the same day.

Thats awesome they do an excellent job. My dad actually got me this one for my college graduation gift. They did the sc flag blue as a limited edition run then had to quit making them because they found out that apparently its near impossibly to match color for upper and lower so they quit halfway through after throwing out 50% of the run. Apparently my dad was one of the lucky ones to end up getting one of the few they completed. I think the guy said they ended up making 50 when it was all said and done.

But I love it and their guns. My room mate was about to get a colt and liked shooting mine so much he changed his mind and got a PSA.

Yeah he's had no issues with it whatsoever. Seems to be a solid piece, plus supporting local business is always a plus when the price is good and the quality is there.
