I decided to join the tubular rail craze. Quad rails are so, like, yesterday...

I pulled the DD Lite 9 I had on this SBR and installed a Noveske NSR 9. This was a rail that I ordered back in December, was just delivered (Midway) yesterday.

Pretty straightforward installation, although it needs a 1 1/16 crowfoot wrench that's less than 1/2 inch wide to torque it down - turns out that isn't such an easy thing to find.

The lightness of the rail and its smaller diameter make for a rifle that handles completely differently. I like it.

After and before.

^Very nice!!!

I decided to join the 300 BLK craze. Surefire 7.62RC SOCOM is going to get Form4 paperwork filled out later this week, and I am trying to source an 8.2-10.2" upper in 300 BLK in the configuration I want (Rail, QPQ or chrome-lined hammer forged barrel.)

kewl... I'm not convincing you to buy one. I'm just saying, its not an inferior round. thats all. The 5.45 has minor advatages from 5.56 ballistically. But 5.56 has the overall advantage.
I have 7.62, Ive destroyed cinder blocks with FMJ. Shooting cinder makes the 5.56 look weak. But more than all this stopping power obsession you have. Proficiency beats all statistics. I prefer 6.8 over 5.56 but hey to each there own.
If you can engage your target, shoot fast and accurate. The round in the gun will be a much smaller factor.

Stay safe and win the fight.

Agreed. Just began my trek to obtain a suppressed 300 BLK. Should fill all roles nicely out to about 250m, which is as far as I care, anyway. Where I am going, they have black bear, so it is smart, I think.

The AK? I just felt like I needed one. They are so ubiquitous, that if you don't know how to run one, you're cheating yourself out of a life skill, imo

Ak's seperate shooter's from just guys with guns. The AR hits targets practically on its own An AK, shows how skilled you are.

I have been checking out the M&Ps myself recently. My next gun is probably going to be a M&P40. Smith & Wesson is growing on me.

I just ordered my five (the limit) PMAGs from Magpul via the Colorado resident special purchase program. $12.95 each with $5 flat shipping. Not bad.

I like it a lot. Keeping the magnified optic for the next build. Think I'm gonna do a .308...or maybe something bigger.

I found a 30 acre chunk of hunting land I'm seriously looking at, too..

Sounds awesome. With 30 acres I'd be looking at the next rifle to be a bolt action sniper in 30.06 or 338 lapua etc...

Browning has a new rifle that would make an excellent platform to be modified for those long range shots.

Shot the M&P today, the trigger is better than I was expecting but a think some polishing and filing on the trigger bar will be in order. Also shot an AR-15 for the first time today, I want one, BAD.

X-Bolt Long Range Hunter Carbon Fiber, , Browning Firearms Product

That is sick-looking.

I'm actually leaning towards .308 for a couple of reasons. I'd really love to be able to run a .338 Lapua, but with how cheap I am I'd never shoot the stupid thing.

Also, sold my 1911 today. Dude that bought it has some great plans for it which is how I justified it to myself...
