does having only 2 seats get in the way of anything

I'm seriously considering buying the 2011 370z and it bothers me that it only has two seats, does this inhibit anything or is it worth it?

N8GTOL 01-29-2012 10:44 PM

It's worth having an excuse to not let people bum rides off of you ;)

Seriously though I have no issue with it.

My_third_Z 01-29-2012 10:45 PM

Just depends on your situation. I live alone, so there's rarely a passenger anyway.

zintoatree 01-29-2012 10:47 PM

This is more of a question for yourself. Can you handle not fitting bigger things into your car/not dragging around the children. The Z can handle a lot of stuff in certain situations. I fit myself and three other people in my car when my friends needed someone to come get them from the club. If you cannot handle having limited space and still want something sporty check out the Mustang or Evo, I will not mention that god forsaken chevy :/
Me personally I love having only two seats, usually don't have to worry about your car becoming a taxi :)

caolia 01-29-2012 10:55 PM

What situations are you talking about cause it really seems like theres not a lot of space in it but its always been kind of a dream car for me, and how the hell did you fit 4 people in iit????

ZInferno0248 01-29-2012 11:04 PM

Gets in the way of the lameness associated with driving a sedan

Sounds safe.

Strangler 01-29-2012 11:32 PM

If you live by yourself then you will have no worries. If you have a family then it will be a problem. As you already know it's a 2 seater, so don't plan on hauling any furniture's or anything big.

Pintsize725 01-29-2012 11:39 PM

If you don't already have kids or don't want any, it's a great excuse to hold off!

caolia 01-29-2012 11:45 PM

How muc can you fit in the trunk? Is it spacious or what

It's actually pretty spacious, well for me at least. The 350z had very limited space with the stabilizer bar in the middle but the 370 has enough room to fit a good amount of junk.

Strangler 01-30-2012 12:05 AM

You can fit about a body in the trunk as long as it's not 300lbs+. Typical groceries. No big storage boxes because the trunk won't close.

Of course it inhibits things dude, it's two seats less than most cars. :icon14:

As for whether it's worth it? That can't be answered for you by people on a forum. It depends on your particular lifestyle.

If it bothers you? Why consider it. Bother is a strong word to even consider a car. Why don't you consider a G37s or IPL coupe?

If you cut them into pieces they will fit. And you're going to have to cut them in pieces anyway to feed them to the pigs.

BeemaaZ 01-30-2012 12:29 AM

:) Might wanna consider this instead http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uvYrI...e_gdata_player

Chopping works but a classic reverse hogtie will give a similar effect. The bones snapping sounds a little harsh but it works.

Lol...

well, it'll be a big difference from you current listed ride, that's for sure. If a two seater is potentially a problem, then odds are if you're thinking that way, it will be a problem. Just get a second daily driver that's practical.

Also, I find myself having to drive other ppl a lot less when in groups, so if you do hang around friends in groups and carpool places together, you can save on some miles with a 2 seater

perfect for me and my girl, and we have her parents' mini van for anything else

Not a problem for me, then again I am single and have no kids. I daily it in the spring/summer and has more than enough room for my uses. If this is going to be your only car it should not be a problem as long long as you don't plan to haul large bulky items like furniture/televisions/body parts. I was even able to fit my F.I. exhaust in the car driving to my buddy's shop and fitting the stock exhaust on the way back so volume capacity is not as limited as it looks.

It is also a great reason for people not to bum rides off you. My friends and co-workers don't even ask me for rides anymore because of the Z. I do have an Altima that I daily in the winter months and for rain/snow but I don't tell anyone I have that because they will start asking for rides again. :p

I don't know where you get your info from? Body parts aren't a problem. Lol.

bigsix 01-30-2012 08:57 AM

There are lots of hot rod sedans on the used market that can act as both a sports car and comfortable cruiser.
If you had the Z, you'd want it to fit your personality & lifestyle.

Cutting them up into manageable sizes is such a chore though, not like throwing in whole bodies into a trunk of a sedan. :p

I went to get my friend from a club in Orlando, when I got there I found out his buddy and guys gf needed a ride too. Friend passes out in the back and the other two sat in passenger seat. It wasn't safe at all but it was 4 in the morning and I was not going to make two trips. I was just pointing out that the z isn't very spacious but can be made to work if the situation presents itself.

On topic, I never had any space issues with the z. The hatch is very spacious and I actually miss that aspect of the z most vs my mustang.

BigT 01-30-2012 09:01 AM

I prefer not having so much room. I'm a single guy so I don't have to haul around too much. Even when I did have a 4 door, the backseats hardly got used. If I was married and owned my home, I probably would not have bought the Z unless I could afford a 2nd car for myself.

bflosabre91 01-30-2012 09:03 AM

do you have 4 or 5 seats in the car you have now? How much do you use the back seat? That should answer your question.

zintoatree 01-30-2012 09:08 AM

Just go to the dealership and look inside one. This will answer your question about the space it has. For what it is I find the Z very spacious.

DarkJak 01-30-2012 09:30 AM

I almost never miss having backseats. The Z isn't my grocery-getter and ever since I got it, I haven't been forced to be the driver while carpooling.

The only times I've missed having 5 seats while driving the Z were when I had to pick 2 girls up since their cars were in use.

If you find yourself actually using the back seats in your car more than once or twice a week, you could always consider a g37 coupe. It's heavier, but quite a few people I know prefer it's lines to the Z's and its interior is better.

I'm also curious on how easy it would be to fit someone in the trunk. Been to scared of breaking something to try.

Yeah, it's great! When my wife's with me, there's no room for my kids! :p

caolia 01-30-2012 10:44 AM

Bothers is a bad word to describe it, and I'm about to move to a bigger college, no kids either so I'm not really think a lot of problems with it are presenting. I'm glad to know that I have a third seat in the trunk if I really need it

caolia 01-30-2012 10:53 AM

Actually have 8 seats in my car...

Yes. It inhibits hitchhikers!

caolia 02-06-2012 11:08 PM

i've also heard the z is pretty noisy in the cabin is that true and is it agitating or something thats blown out of proportion

mjg 02-06-2012 11:12 PM

If you have a Z, good idea to have a second car... I tried getting groceries and stuff in the Z, it sucks.

Cmike2780 02-06-2012 11:23 PM

I can't say I really miss the back seat. Kind of a dbag move, but I never have to drive my car when I go out with friends. The "sorry, my car only seats 2" excuse works 90% of the time. You can fit a lot in this car, but it does require some strategy. People have been able to fit an entire set of golf clubs in the trunk. One fit a bike in there and I've personally fit a set of tires in the car (2 in the back, 2 in the passanger seat, covered of course). Road noise is noticeable at first when you're actively listening for it, but after a while, you really don't notice it much. Only sure way to find out if the Z fits your needs is to go for a test drive.
