because deployed with someone==best look into their personal life.

glad to see your field psychoanalysis test accepted as the new standard for evaluating potential to commit a crime. I look forward to our minority report-esque future.

again you are speaking on a subject you have ZERO knowledge on...
when you are deployed with someone, you get to know their personal life VERY well.. you eat sleep and sometimes even **** with these people...

when you have been deployed and learned what one learns when you are with someone 24/7 then speak.
till then stfu.

I never said all marines are wife beaters, nor did I say they are all crazy... so take your beef and move on

support your claim that there is a higher rate then:ugh2:

I've done my time overseas in "undisclosed locations" with people in every branch. You don't get where I am without that background.

my claim goes from seeing it with my own eyes... and from inside information and briefings upon briefings... I have friends who have had to arrest people because they are beating their spouse... male and female alike...

currently Minot leads AFGSC in domestic calls... you ok with that because it's AF?
and going TDY isn't the same as being in the suck... Lemers, or any other military member will back me on that

because psychoanalysis has ZERO findings, and is totally wrong...

look I am telling you what I have seen with my own eyes.. and you prove to me that I am wrong... you are defending a statement that was mostly made in jest, however has factual standing...

we can go on and on, but it's not my job to fact find for you, you want to prove me wrong, do it..

It's not like I am bashing the Marines... hell, I am married to a Marine child...one of my hero's is a Marine, and the Marines was my first choice of service to join

didn't realize you were trained and conducting a psychoanalysis study on deployment. That's pretty sweet that is what you were doing.

sample, size, confirmation bias

Maybe you don't understand logic, but if you make an outlandish claim, burden is on you to support it.

no. that is not how this works.

guess that explains the bitterness.

Lemers 11-08-2011 08:54 PM

Ask the okinawans why they don't want the Marines there but haven't said anything about the AF.

sample, size, confirmation bias

so you don't have any social skills? you can't read peoples facial expressions, body movements and reactions to news? again, you have never been there.. you don't know what goes on, what you talk about, the stuff you share..
you're claims have zero credibility as you have never had the experience...
this is dumb, you believe what you want...

Yeah, but I also know from first hand experience that every branch has it's problems. None of them are any different than the other. If I had to guess I would say that if you broke down the various things (in this case domestic abuse) you would find that all the branches have pretty similar incident rates. Lets say the army has 13 incidents per 1000 households (completely made up number), I would be willing to bet the other branches would be pretty similar and that there isn't any significant variance.

I'm not wasting my time on this any more. There's no support for your claims, and they've been widely refuted...but it's not my job to protect the rep of the marines.

Among the Services, the Army consistently has shown the highest rates of domestic violence, followed by the Marines, Navy, and Air Force.iii

these guys seem to think the DV rates are higher in the army, consistent with everything I've seen.

there is support, I just don't have it in front of me...

and like I have said before, im not saying the AF isn't bad, or the Army isn't bad.. hell, I even mentioned my current duty station has the highest rate in all of AFGSC

you are correct that every branch has it's issues and fair share of dirt bags...

but from personal experience and because MINOT has a HUGE problem...
they showed us reports from across the AF, across my MAJCOM and the 4 services...

Marines lead, and like you said not by much, the variance is small, but they are the leaders... it's not a big deal
