Cool. I just pulled the trigger last night on the WRC Playseat Revolution -- Amazon had those at $150 less than the new Forza badged seats and other than badging and slight seat variations they are the same setup. Likely gonna get one of the fanatecs so I don't have to switch wheels between Forza 4 and GT5

theDreamer 10-11-2011 03:43 PM

MC, what chair & frame are you using?

HKYStormFront 10-11-2011 03:53 PM

soooo full of win MC, that looks awesome.

Isamu 10-11-2011 03:55 PM

so who is playing FM4? is it good?

MightyBobo 10-11-2011 08:57 PM

I got it today. I like it a lot so far. I have a G27 wheel but I dont have a playseat or anything yet, so I just got the new wireless wheel which actually works pretty damn nicely...

MC 10-12-2011 12:02 AM

did you guys know both nismo kits are in the game for the Z? both the factory nismo and the add on S -tune i bought 2 Zs so i could do one of each.. they didnt have the nismo wheels and i was tired of putting TE37s on everything so i got the knock off Rota LMGTs and painted them black to hide the shame

also if you buy a G37. on of the kits is the OEM IPL body

how did everyone get ? i got to the semi-pro world tour... i think thats driver level 13 and my nissan affinity is level 10

Titan1080 10-12-2011 12:59 AM

Just poking around for now, not too much racing and trying to work out the Kinect head tracking. My living room is not well suited to Kinect anyways and my chair is kinda low so the sensor is having a little trouble. Would've been racing all night but I have been gone most of the evening at our local Z car club meeting and just now noticed the Nismo Z kit, pretty sweet!

Zaggeron 10-12-2011 07:32 AM

I tried the kinect head tracking. It seems to work better than the game thinks it does. I was playing and it seemed to be working fine except I kept getting the "re-kinect" message at the bottom of the screen. And it's not just some small message, the entire bottom 20% of the screen keeps flashing the message. Annoying so I turned it off.

Some other small things I noticed. Forza 3's predominant tendency was understeer. With Forza 4 it seems just the opposite. The brakes seem touchier than before, but that might be that I'm just used to my PS3 wheel instead of my crappy MS wheel. Also, they must have tweaked the classes some. In 3, the 300zx was by default a D class. Now it starts as a C class.

shadoquad 10-12-2011 09:56 AM

I got the game last night.

Since I had lvl 50 Forza 3 data, I got 60000 bonus cred to go out and buy my Z34 and soup it up a little. It's my A class killer already lol.

I started a club (370z OGs). If you want to join, send me a message first please with your forum name on here, so that I know who you are. My XBL tag is SHADOQUAD

Zaggeron 10-12-2011 01:37 PM

^^ Cool. I'll pop you a message on XBL when I get home. Zaggeron is my gamertag.

mrcoolguyface 10-12-2011 02:40 PM

Yup

Yes, we need you in our car club. You can be the guy who designs all the hottest cars, and we can pay you by sending you nude pictures of XwChriswX

MightyBobo 10-12-2011 03:03 PM

BTW, I'll reiterate - the new wireless wheel really is pretty darn good, and I recommend it to anyone using only the controller...

My only complaint is there are menu options that require the bumper buttons......which dont exist on the wheel hahaha. Hope they patch that...

Lemers 10-12-2011 03:14 PM

I just picked up a copy of the collectors edition. Will start playing hopefully tonight. Let me know how to joint the car club.

I saw this black "u" shaped wheel at gamestop. Is that what you are talking about?

Probably not. I think what you saw was the "speed wheel" by MS. Mostly for casual gamers. I'm guessing the wireless wheel he was talking about was the new Mad Catz wheel.

Amazon.com: Xbox 360 Wireless Racing Wheel: Video Games

I'm still using the old MS wireless wheel, but I'll probably pick up a higher end one pretty shortly.

Negative, I was definitely talking about the MS wheel. For $50, its still a great alternative to having the full wheel/pedal setup.

shadoquad 10-12-2011 03:51 PM

I've got pool league tonight, so I won't be around, but XwChriswX and Phelan should be able to accept incoming requests. If not, just be patient and I'll get you in tonight late or tomorrow.

OK. I stand corrected. My arms would get tired holding that up in the air though.

Yeah thats the only downside of it right now. Its still far more precise than the stupid bear claw that is the XBox controller.

Lemers 10-12-2011 06:31 PM

I may get this "wheel" this weekend. But I've used the controller all through FMIII so it has to be a lot better.

Go try it at Best Buy. Mine had Forza 4 running w/ the wheel. I found it far easier to enter/exit corners naturally than with those stupid joysticks.

Lemers 10-12-2011 06:50 PM

I found in FMIII with the controller I push the stick forward and use the curve from the guard to help with corners.

Lemers 10-12-2011 10:35 PM

Shado I don't know if I dis this wrong but it would only let me enter "370z" for the club search. Let me know if you see me user name.

Any clubs your friends belong to show up in the "join club" section so have Shado give you a friend invite first.

So do we just pick the most expensive one on each list? That doesn't really mean they are the best to race.

You dont HAVE to, no. But, if you ever intend to buy them later on, its worth it to get the most expensive ones...

Zaggeron 10-13-2011 07:47 AM

That was my thinking --- especially when you plan to buy 2 or more of the choices listed, it's best to pick the most expensive one to get free. I do wish they would display the PI/HP-wt numbers of the cars they offer as gifts -- especially in early game when you might actually need one for the next race.

That was my thinking --- especially when you plan to buy 2 or more of the choices listed, it's best to pick the most expensive one to get free. I do wish they would display the PI/HP-wt numbers of the cars they offer as gifts -- especially in early game when you might actually need one for the next race.

So in career mode, the race choices that are listed for you are based off of cars that you own. It wouldnt appear if you didnt own something that could possibly fit the bill, either in its current form, or through upgrades.

So how you guys like it so far? Game is great except for the AI which seems worse then Forza 3.

AI definitely makes some questionable decisions that irritate me when Im trying to run a clean race.

Other than that, Im definitely enjoying it so far. I like how I have incentive to turn off driver aids to gain more monies, thats for sure. None of that in GT5...

The only gripe I have is the same as all racing games. I clearly have the fastest car so it puts me in the back at start and by the first curve I'm playing bumper cars just to get through the crowd.

What bugs me about that the most is they obviously put their fastest car out front, and when you're stuck playing bumper cars getting through the pack, that front fast-as-fvck car is taking off like a bat out of hell.
