Im personally a fan on discount tire, but i have a few friends that are managers there and do good work (for me atleast)

I like firestone for their lifetime (insert service here) options, especially the alignment. That in itself pays off in about 3 alignments (I had 2 done already!)

I used to have a friend at a local firestone that did anything I wanted for free (except inspection). But he doesn't work in the area anymore, got transferred to another store.

I took my front shocks/springs to be swapped with the eibachs to the local goodyear and found out one of my old friends from high-school works there, so I may go see if he can hook me up

Oh Phelan, love the wheel choice!

ya, no matter where I get the wheels and tires mounted, I think firestone will get me for the alignment. I plan on keeping this car for a while!

FuszNissan 09-30-2009 12:20 PM

Good choice phelan.

Caravan, I am no help on your dilemma, I would just find out if there machine can handle larger wheels. Like 24's, that way you know they can't screw up a 19

I don't go anywhere where they won't let me watch them do the mounting. trust me, when the guy knows the owner is right there, he's gonna be careful :roflpuke2:

FuszNissan 09-30-2009 12:24 PM

^^Problem solved.

phelan 09-30-2009 12:24 PM

^ oh so true, i've hawked over the workers on all my previous cars, and they don't mess around working on my car nearly as much as anybody else's :roflpuke2:

Caravanshaka 09-30-2009 12:25 PM

Hey Phelan, what type of spacers are those 15mm ones you have, the replacement stud or the bolt on?

Oh, and my car never actually goes there, I pull wheels and tires off of the car myself and put them in a truck to have them mounted. no impact wrenches touch my lugz :icon18:

FuszNissan 09-30-2009 12:27 PM

Then why are you asking:shakes head:...lol

hmmm, shipping maybe??

I'm thinking once I get them installed I'm going to want more offset in the rear, +20 on a 10" just isn't enough.

XwChriswX 09-30-2009 12:32 PM

Do any of you guys know if there is some type of retailer out there that specifically sells just the face plate of head units in the event yours get stolen/lost/broken?

phelan 09-30-2009 12:32 PM

Never heard of one... Was under the impression that if your face plate is stolen or broken, a new head unit is needed.

No when I shipped my car, the a**holes wouldn't let me leave the faceplate on it, so I left it with my wife in Germany, and she shipped it to me. But she forgot to put my specific apartment number on the address form. And it's been 'in transit' for over a month now, and it hasn't shown up at my house or returned to hers... So my guess is it's lost in the mail system and I'm never gonna see it again.

XwChriswX 09-30-2009 12:39 PM

Yeah and due to the one that I have I was lucky to find it the first time as it was for $400. And I really dont wanna have to get a new one... Maybe I can go to best buy and get some cheapo $80 one to trade in lol

blue660r01 09-30-2009 12:59 PM

XwChriswX 09-30-2009 01:23 PM

Whaaaat? If I'm trading it in anyways, I might as well save the expensive head unit right? :rofl2:

so, if you have the tracking number...... tell her to call the shipping company and add in the apartment number cause everything gets scanned anyways... who reads labels anyways... it's over rated now
so if it's updated, maybe you'll get it :ugh2:

and whats this * http: / / renewhouse4u. com

XwChriswX 09-30-2009 01:46 PM

Hmmm... The downside is she gave it to a German shipping company, who gave her Their tracking number. And they said it was handed off to a US tracking company... to which we dont have a tracking number for...

sounds like they should replace it...

XwChriswX 09-30-2009 01:49 PM

I dunno... I mean logic would presume that once handed over They would recieve a new tracking number they would hence give us... Or at least the delivery agent would bring it to the apartment complex, and have the good sense to go inside and ask hey do you guys have a So and So that lives here, and if so whats his box number....
