For me, only for looks......still not sure I'm up for it. The part is cheap....the labor involved is not. I was told about 5 hours to install that sucker. I'm waiting on a quote for all the final things I want to do from Altered.....depending on the cost, I'll go with some but maybe not all.

(Hell, I'll admit it...I don't even know what that thing does) :icon14:

It takes 5 hours to pull out bolts, drain the fluid, put on the new one, reinstall the bolts, and refill with fluid?

Sounds like an exerpt from...

Not quite sure what this means but......

"For install, the whole differential pumpkin must be taken down."

Guess it means they have to remove the whole differencial housing? Why??? Doesn't look that hard...

that means they have to drop the whole rear pumpkin out of the car...from the angle of that picture I would think it could be done without doing it, but I've never tried.

Searching that now....I was told the 08 350 fits on an 09 370....but we know how things like that go......cant even get the cargo net to fit. :icon08:

nogoodname 09-28-2009 10:38 AM

DDM said it doesnt fit like awhile ago i think

FuszNissan 09-28-2009 10:45 AM

Not surprised......not even sure I need to do this......the part is a little over $100......5 hours of labor @ $100 = $500......that really should be the dead giveaway its prolly not worth it on a daily driver. :icon14:

No valid reason at all? Total waste of $600?

Caravanshaka 09-28-2009 10:50 AM

agreed, don't waste your money on that. I'll bet it is Nismo, and if it is the 350z doesn't fit.

Get your headlights blacked out instead!

You don't need it unless you are seriously tracking the car. It falls under do I need an oil cooler for daily driving... the answer is no

But what if you live in AZ where the Avg temp is 100*+ anyways? Wouldn't hurt for an oil cooler right?

I have no intent of tracking my car....maybe a 1/4 mile run just to see what it can do...but that's it.

And tint...yes, I know....and I still haven't powdercoated my strut bar yet.....I could do both of those and still have money left over. :icon17:

I live in texas, we were over 100 a lot of the summer. I couldn't get my oil temps above 230-235, so I'm not too worried.

XwChriswX 09-28-2009 11:25 AM

Eh, well still I'd like the comfort of knowing its there for those long drives. =)

Caravanshaka 09-28-2009 11:28 AM

It certainly can't hurt. I've thought about building a kit myself since it would only be a couple hundred bucks and I can install it in my garage.

XwChriswX 09-28-2009 11:30 AM

Too bad your in Tx otherwise I'd say lets put our minds and tools (so to speak) together to come up with a cheap effective plan and get both our cars modded. Then sit the rest of the day admiring our craftsmanship lol
