the same thing that i do, you have to get certified by the national weather service. it would require some studying and OJT.... but they would probably be that shift.

well we don't have an active opening, but they have trouble filling shifts a few times a month. as long as you are punctual and can pass the nws test i think they'd hire you. the local guy here does the hiring. i'll ask him what he thinks. i'm just not sure how you can study and pass the test. i'd need to do some checking.
