How are the skies? Do you mainly do bug smashers, or are you at a city airport?

We run them all! Everything from MD80s 737s P3s F18s RJs lots of twins and we have a flight school here as well, they use mainly C152s P28As and PA44s.

In addition to the tower we run two radar sectors.

So the alarm system just went off, no clue which it was. Security or fire, but damn we have to many alarms in this building. My ears are still ringing, I hate this building we moved into, f*cking sucks so much.

XwChriswX 08-03-2009 11:58 AM

Our building in germany, if there was a fire, or the power went out, the dividing doors in the building would all slam shut sealing you in... In one aspect it was kinda cool cause they all went.. 'Shhhhhuck!'... In another aspect, it kinda sucked cause you were sealed in lol.

The problem(s) I have with this building is we bought it, it was once a restaurant, and we own the land & building. We basically can do what we want with it, staying within the codes of Houston. Instead of spending the money to tear it all the way (basically metal exterior walls) and making sure everything was kosher. We just re-do the interior and add some fluff items to make it an office with nice walls and decent floors. We have been here for a year and 90% of the office hates it, there are to many items left unfinished or have now broken.

/sigh
On the plus side our company has moved every 4-5 years so I am hoping we stick to that.

Fun stuff... lol What is it you do?

theDreamer 08-03-2009 12:25 PM

I work for a surveying company, we do contract work for oil companies and analyze what hazards they will run into while drilling offshore. I manage the cartography division and do the IT work here. Main office(s) are in the UK, but we are a small out post that handles the US/South America/Africa work.

XwChriswX 08-03-2009 12:26 PM

Sounds interesting... Pay well I assume?

theDreamer 08-03-2009 12:31 PM

For a person without a college degree, yes, but I am in college working towards something better since this work is very boring and not something I care to do.

XwChriswX 08-03-2009 12:32 PM

lol sounds like fun... What is it you Want to do?
