I dunno. I almost bought a G3, but then it seemed like there was a flood of intakes that came out on the market, so I'm kinda just waiting around, seeing what bolt ons get the most gains and work best with other mods. Basically looking for others to fuck up and learn from it

theDreamer 08-23-2009 01:30 PM

Like me!!!

nogoodname 08-23-2009 01:32 PM

perfect timing to post Dreamer....lol

theDreamer 08-23-2009 01:33 PM

I do not mind spending the money, but now it is time to find something better to replace the crap.

frost 08-23-2009 01:33 PM

These bolt ons are so expensive compared to what I'm accustomed to spending on american cars, I really dont want to be dropping a lot of money trying out different mods.

frost 08-23-2009 01:34 PM

What do you consider crap? The Takeda?

nogoodname 08-23-2009 01:34 PM

Takeda: Take Da Sheit Out

theDreamer 08-23-2009 01:35 PM

Yep, negative gains and lowered my AF mix, nothing good.

Very nice. Soon you'll be in the 16+ bracket.

frost 08-23-2009 01:36 PM

rofl, Takeda was one of the intakes I was waiting to see dyno gains on. Must have missed that/those threads.

theDreamer 08-23-2009 01:37 PM

Check out my journal, I have the before and after.

Just found it. Thanks mate. Glad I didn't jump on the bandwagon, because those things were beautiful and in the top running

theDreamer 08-23-2009 01:42 PM

They look great, and add a very nice sound note above 4k, but are worthless for gains and hurt the AF mix. Now my only question is, could the Texas heat plus the heat from the engine kill these? So my thought would be, maybe after the exhaust is on and a tune I might see some good gains from them, plus not being in 100+ weather.

nogoodname 08-23-2009 01:42 PM

how can you pick takeda over r2c...lol

get takeda out of the top running now...lol

phelan 08-23-2009 01:43 PM

who else is getting intakes out soon?

i'm personally liking the injens rite now.

nogoodname 08-23-2009 01:43 PM

i dont even need a cold air intake because the air is always cold here.....LOLz

No updates. I never got an email back after my last one threatening litigation. Filed the IC3 dispute & am waiting to hear back regarding that.

Problem was r2c were not out when I bought so the Takedas were the only SRI system out.

nogoodname 08-23-2009 01:44 PM

i am really curious for Tin's dyno results

Seems possible, but i would have the same heat problem

frost 08-23-2009 01:46 PM

Have we seen any dynos on r2cs?

nogoodname 08-23-2009 01:46 PM

in the winter time, i must get extra hp...lol

intakes take in super cold air

Yep, and while my idea of better temperatures might be nice, here in Texas we might get that 3-4 months out of the year.

nogoodname 08-23-2009 01:47 PM

the only dyno i have is......let me get it

Ya, we never get cold air ... we just get air a couple months that isnt stupid hot

nogoodname 08-23-2009 01:49 PM

R2C vs. Stillen Gen3

10% more humid on Gen3 run but also 4 degrees cooler

Yep, I think for real gains I am going to have to rely on the exhaust and maybe HFC (still not 100% on HFC yet). I think I might just be happy with intake, exhaust and a tune.

frost 08-23-2009 01:50 PM

dyno looks good ... at 70 degrees!!!!

HFCs seem to be netting the most gains. Whats your concern?

nogoodname 08-23-2009 01:52 PM

gives rasp, cel codes sometimes

frost 08-23-2009 01:53 PM

Nothing wrong with rasp. From what I remember, one maker throws codes, but the other (berk?) doesn't

blue660r01 08-23-2009 01:53 PM

Did she come back

frost 08-23-2009 01:54 PM

negative

EDIT: well, she came back. didnt post though

nogoodname 08-23-2009 01:56 PM

oh...she'll be back.....just like the terminator

nogoodname 08-23-2009 01:56 PM

like the dyno graph???

frost 08-23-2009 01:57 PM

As long as it's 70 degrees, looks dandy.

The rasp & the noise, the codes will be null with the Berks.
