So from what I can tell, all our fiances want us to get fat ... must be so we don't leave.

Slidefox 01-03-2009 02:19 AM

I think I'm going to take-up MMA instead of trying to find a gym. There is an MMA school not far from my job in Tempe.

hahahahaha.... if the shoe fits where it!!

frost 01-03-2009 02:21 AM

I thought the same thing about a boxing club around where I work. I also have an MMA studio that just opened up, but I'm not sure about needing to know holds in real life applications.

I'm fighting the fat,...(not my fiance)...(I think). Yeah! Die fat.

It depends on the training center you go to. I want to go to RITC, and they teach you Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Mauy Tai, Kick-Boxing, Wrestling, and Grappling.

I took 5 years of Tae kwon Do, and Akido when I was a kid. I even completed in 2 or 3 tournaments.

frost 01-03-2009 02:25 AM

I was skinny until I hit 25, then I developed a pooch that I have been able to keep under control, but never got rid of completely. From what I can tell, shedding 15lbs should do the trick.

Slidefox 01-03-2009 02:27 AM

well folks... 1:30am time to go to bed... later!!

I took a few years of TKD myself. In fact, I think the space is still open here in the valley. I think it was called Newton's.
Do you know what the MMA place by you is charging? It would be nice to have a reference if I decide to talk to the place local to me.

I learned to fight, from getting my *** kicked until I could beat the other guys ***. After that, no more problems, haven't fought since. :D

I'd be interested in checking out some programs around town. It might be worthwhile.

I know this sounds egotistical/schovanistic/ and full of bravado, but I have a pretty high pain tolerance and exhaustion rate.

I actually like the idea of high intensity fight instruction.

Namir 01-03-2009 10:44 AM

My new year resolution is to gain 10lbs

The first few weeks after new year suck. The gym is always overcrowded

frost 01-03-2009 11:31 AM

^
Gaining weight was last year's resolution for me! I ended up putting on about 30lbs, but I think only 20 of it was muscle, lol.

Manning was pissed that he didn't get a shot in OT.
That was an exciting game, but the holding call on the last drive? ehhhhhhhhhhhhhh.....:ughdance:

Namir 01-03-2009 10:45 PM

Btw if anyone wants a black GTR they have one at my nissan dealership.

they want 89k for it though :ugh2:
I wish I had a 100k dollar house to sell. I'd buy the GTR and an 11k camper van to live in.

I think that was a fair call. And IMO that didnt do it. The Colts killed themselves with like 3 penalties on that drive. Chargers deserved it no doubt.

We're still in ER, but now we were moved to the overflow unit, which has no supplies, they opened a unit with only 2 nurses there and there was no supplies at all.... just really old beds and a phone...no towels...no bed sheets..no food....no medication......nothing....all the shelves were empty....no curtains either.....My dad's breathing is better now but he may have caught something from the hospital which is the scary thing !!! and is now in a Isolation room

and school starts tomorrow....damn

Man I'm sorry to hear that. Nosocomial infection is more common than people think, and it seems like it might be the result of this overflow you mentioned. Moving patients around, especially when understaffed/undersupplied, increases their risk of exposure to hospital illnesses.
I wish you and your father all the best and a quick recovery.
