yeah, i also do the aviation weather a few days a month. it's one of the jobs i had when i was in the air force, i get about $26 an hour to look out the window and encode the types of clouds, temp, dew point, pressure and some other stuff. pretty sweet.

*edit* when you check your local weather and it says "current weather at your local airport is" is what i send out every hour.

My grandmother does something similar but doesnt get paid....she looks out the window during dinner and says: "Oh, look it's sunny out" or "It's raining"....she also likes to repeat to us exactly what was just said by the anchor on tv as if she is telling us something we've never heard before. Gotta love it! :p

frost 08-11-2009 09:20 PM

Damn man, crazy hefty bank.

it wasn't riveting or anything, but it was really interesting that somebody could be that disturbed and live that way.

Pushing_Tin 08-11-2009 09:41 PM

banning any rain at your house?

Pushing_Tin 08-11-2009 09:42 PM

okay gotta go look at the sky, back in a few....

frost 08-11-2009 09:42 PM

Yeah, I wouldnt go so far as to call it riveting, but I do find the people's problems interesting as I've never met people with these issues IRL.

Caravanshaka 08-11-2009 09:46 PM

Tis raining, just ran out and covered my miter saw and a bathroom vanity.

Oh and btw I do watch the F word, its just so much better, but in a realistic way. Sometimes I feel like the US television networks treat us like babies and have to fluff and over produce everything for us like hold our hands. And a lot of the time I wonder how much of it is scripted.

There is a HUGE difference between US and similar BBC shows. Even "kitchen nightmares" is vastly different, and it's all in the editing. The BBC versions look like a dude with a home camera following people around, but it's more believable, and agreed ont he "fluff"

frost 08-11-2009 09:50 PM

catch ya later Caravan

Caravanshaka 08-11-2009 09:51 PM

ya, I prefer BBC shows as well. Coupling and Teachers were fantastic shows on BBC...I have all 4 seasons of Coupling on dvd!

ok, actually going to bed now, night guys!
