Question:
I have tiny rust colored spots on my brand new white car?
Could it really be rust? If so, does that mean I have a really crappy paint job? It's a 2008 Nissan Altima coupe and it's white. The spots are very small and barely noticeable but of course I noticed them today when I washed it. I have had the car for about 9 days now. Should I take it to the dealer?

what it is is a thing called industrial fallout. what it is is contaminates in the air get into the paint of new vehicles, along with rust falling off of the trasport trucks. they should have "bricked" this car while detailing it before you drove it off the lot. thats the 350 buck "prep fee" that you pay. they wash and brick the car, take all the protective plastic off, ect. what i would do is take it back to the dealer. especialy if you have only had it for a lil over a week. they should re-detail it for free since they are supposed to make sure all the fallout is off your car. if for some reason they DONT, do not panic. its not realy a big deal. go to the parts store and look for the clay bars. meguiares makes a good product. they come with a clay bar and some quick detail wax. what you want to do is wash your car, leave it wet and go around and generously spary the wax on an area. working one area at a time go over it with the clay bar. full instructions are included with the kit but that pretty much wraps it up. after you "brick" the entire car, rinse and re-wash. then shammy dry. try avioding doing it in direct sunlight though. if you must make sure you work quickly and rinse each body panel off after you clay bar it. this is all asuming that the dealer dont take care of it, which they should.

dark colours absorb more heat causing more moisture humidity crap...thus rusting.

This is the same problem I had selling my 2007 Accord Coupe with only 16k miles. No luck with AutoTrader or FeEbay. I did get a lot of annoying automated sales calls though which pissed me off. In the end trading it or keeping it were my only options. And this was in January before the economy really went into the crapper.

Any regrets not waiting? I mean, for any reason?

No. While I could have gotten a better deal on the Z had I waited, my Accord would have been worth even less, so I think it's a wash. The local dealer still has the Accord for sale. I got $17k for it, and they had it for sale for $25k for a few months and now it's down to $21k, they are insane.

Those automated calls are ridiculous. 2-3 times a week. I've even talked with the actual people, and they take a huge percentage to advertise it for you. What a joke.

Regarding the Accord, WOW! 25K now $20,990? Good luck dealership.
I'm just not willing to spend 38K+ without being able to pay 2/3 of the total price down. I'm now considering going without the Nav, and maybe down the road the touring package.

I saw a silver Z-28 today and it was pretty cool. I only saw it for a short time at a light and as I rolled by it.

I hadn't see one in person, and honestly now I understand the hype. But this car has a lasting appeal for about three hours. I saw it, loved it, analyzed it, rattled it around, and in the end it looks like a cheap plastic toy. Its awesome, don't get me wrong, but the Z just looks so much, IDK real.

I don't like plastic looking cars. The Z looks carved. The Camaro looks molded.

Just my 2-cents.

The Z will last while the Camaro fades. IMO

I think you are right about the Camaro appeal. I liked it alot when I saw it in Transformers, but that was not the production model. Now that I see the production model, I think it looks really cheap and its not appealing to me.
