Thinking about a new camera and seems most use SD cards. I assume the SD card reader works just like the CF card reader.....USB?

yeah, USB is most common. or you can get those fancy 16-1 readers that takes up a CD bay on the computer.

Yes. What kind of camera? My DSLR uses CF where my video cam uses an SD, although the SD is only used for still images on the video (uses mini dv tapes)

What got my attention on this one is videos are in .avi format and not .mov.....small reason, I know but haven't seen many that do that. .mov means I gotta convert to .avi or .mpeg.....so figured I'd save myself one step. Not that converting takes long.
