I visited Russian almost 10 years ago, family trip, and really enjoyed it. History is great, sites are wonderful, only thing I did not do was try much of the local cuisine. At my younger age I was less out going with food.

nogoodname 07-07-2009 11:03 AM

Damn.... So I'm an outcast to the mowers.

It makes sense though. Old jeans that you'd never wear out is used for home & auto work.

theDreamer 07-07-2009 11:04 AM

In Texas it is always to warm to wear jeans to do yard work, we just use shorts, I use old shorts of course.

nogoodname 07-07-2009 11:04 AM

The onion head bulidings are too cool in Russia.

Did you know that in Russia car drives you not you drive car.

cow 07-07-2009 11:13 AM

"In Soviet Russia, road forks you."

Dreamer, where in Tejas do you live?

nogoodname 07-07-2009 11:15 AM

^ in the wild south where the Texas Ranger rides a black horse

cow 07-07-2009 11:16 AM

Brownsville?

nogoodname 07-07-2009 11:21 AM

Ok. Something happened. The quick reply box is gone for me.

cow 07-07-2009 11:23 AM

theDreamer 07-07-2009 12:17 PM

Sorry went to lunch, Arby's, not great but not bad.
I live in Houston, but what is funny about what I know about you. I had a friend go to college in Shreveport and I ended up dating a girl from her college. Was there a few times, maybe over a year ago. It is a small town, but was very nice. Also spent sometime in Monroe, the girl I dated was from there.

nogoodname 07-07-2009 12:32 PM

You know something about me??

Sorry to hear you spent time in Monroe, lol. It sucks worse than Shreveport.

I can't wait to move out of here.

nogoodname 07-07-2009 01:17 PM

Monroe shock absorbers are popular at part stores

I was only there for the evening and then most of the next day. Such a strange place, I grew up in the suburbs of Houston, but that town has nothing. I mean the mall I went to I walked in and could see the exits on the other side, and they were close.

nogoodname 07-07-2009 01:20 PM

It's a village??

cow 07-07-2009 01:21 PM

Yeah, I hate it. I grew up outside of New Orleans. I'm used to real cities. North Louisiana in general sucks.

I spent a lot of time in Houston-- it's one of my favorite places in the country.

nogoodname 07-07-2009 01:24 PM

I live in the city, country side is boring..... Lol

nogoodname 07-07-2009 01:25 PM

No wonder you said there's no fast food joint near you.

Bigger than a village, slightly, but there is not much to do there.
I mean, when I was visiting I asked what would be nice to do...they came up with the mall idea first.

That's the town in which I work. Shreveport (where I currently live) is a decent size city, but it just "FEELS" small.

I visited a friend in Monroe last year who I'd attended LSU with. She was at the time a reporter for the local ABC station. I got there & we were trying to figure out what to do-- we ended up driving to Shreveport. When we got to Shreveport, we were like, "What do we do here?!"

... so we drove to Dallas.

nogoodname 07-07-2009 01:33 PM

Thats pretty bad.

Nothing beats when I went to Winnipeg. My cousins were happy to see me and I was happy to see them. Then I asked. Take me around town.
So we when to the biggest sight seeing place. It was called the forks. I thought it was a train museum. I was wrong, it was a bridge over two rivers joining each other.

Then I got banned from a local go kart track for driving aggressively.
I was driving just like drive here in Montreal.

Then I saw the Canadian Mint. That was awesome.

That's all there was to do. I had 3 weeks more to go...... Lol

cow 07-07-2009 01:47 PM

Shreveport has all the things a normal city does, but it's a smaller/ shitty version of it.

So it goes.

nogoodname 07-07-2009 02:33 PM
