They're pretty common. Most professionals ride carbon bikes.

I chose a titanium bike as it's more durable.

ive always wanted to get into it but never really had money.

and i would love riding for 45+ miles that would be awesome

I've really only touched the tip of the iceberg as far as bikes go. I was starting to get into it last year, then it got too cold to ride. I really didn't ride much at all this year, though. I want to get back into riding. Maybe next year.

I see you live in San Antonio. You should check out the Hotter Than Hell 100.

Hotter'N Hell 100

My goal is to ride it one day-- maybe next year.

Riding alone is really kind of peaceful. Riding in a group is safer, though. That's actually one reason I've stopped riding-- I'm too much of a pussy to ride on the roads with no one else. Safety in numbers.

The winter weather there is a lot like here. One day, it'll be in the 20s, & the next in the 80s.

Regarding being in shape, I feel your pain. I was really fit in high school & through college. Played soccer or tennis every day. I then messed up my MCL in 2005 & had to spend like five or six months watching. I got lazy in that time period & put on some weight.

It's funny that before, I never even cared about my weight-- I enjoyed playing & what not & it was never an issue. When I was injured, I watched a lot of TV & ate & ballooned to like 190. I don't ever want to be that big again.

laters...sleepy now

cow 08-24-2009 11:51 PM

I'm getting there too. I think I'm going to get some rest.

Good night, all.
