It's almost summer -- what shades do you rock?

Me - all depends on the temperature and mood.
If I have some feel good music on, reggae, dave matthews, etc; I will toss the aviators on.
If I am headed to the beach or gym and might have more upbeat rock or rap, the white oakleys can be seen setting on my nose.
:happydance:

FuszNissan 05-05-2011 06:59 AM

Persol or Maui Jim - depends on the occasion

Ray-Ban aviators or a pair of Wayfarers depending on how I feel.

Mike 05-05-2011 07:23 AM

Oakley Flak Jackets. Prescription for driving and daily use, Non-prescription for reading by the pool or beach.

PapoZalsa 05-05-2011 07:39 AM

Prescription transition lenses or the $10 special ones when I wear the contacts.

Why spent that much money for a pair of sunglasses? :stirthepot:

Baller? :ugh2:

hansoac 05-05-2011 07:45 AM

I was against the expensive pair as well. However I was on a trip to Hawaii with my brothers when I saw the white oakley's...had to get them...but i spent the money only because it has a deeper meaning than just a pair of sunglasses to me.
Regardless of what shades you have, it's hard not to look like a BA when you are driving a car that looks like its speeding even when its parked.

I used to wear Oakleys all the time when I was younger. I'll still rock a pair every now and then, but I really love my Ray-Bans.

hansoac 05-05-2011 07:52 AM

Stang, I thought about picking up a pair of Ray Bans. What makes you a fan of the ray bans over the oaks? Quality, lens clarity, aesthetics?

m4a1mustang 05-05-2011 07:58 AM

The quality is great and they are a classic brand. They aren't really that expensive, either. Mainly, though, I think they are a little more grown up than the average Oakley and are better at blending a classic and sporty look.

I have three pairs in my car... my aviators, my wayfarers, and a pair of Pradas. I think my Oakley wire frames are somewhere at home. I still like them, though. But if I could only have one pair it would be my RB aviators.

This.

hansoac 05-05-2011 08:40 AM

Hmm..just did some searching...I am liking these Ray Band Aviators..now to justify the 100$ on them rather than putting it towards my Stillen G3 CAI...:ugh2:

ClemsonWill 05-05-2011 08:44 AM

Depending on what I'm doing I wear:

Kaenon Jetty -Seaweed (most comfortable pair of sunglasses I have owned in a while)
http://www.avidtackle.com/media/cata...12_color_1.jpg

Costa Del Mar Riomar - Tort w/ green lenses (wave 580 glass)
http://www.backcountry.com/images/it.../SHITORMIR.jpg

Ray Ban Classic Aviators - Silver Polarized
http://www.ioffer.com/img/item/145/7...sses-a189f.jpg

Costa Del Mar Rincon - black (My least favorite. If anyone is interested I'm willing to sell them or trade for some Ray Ban Wayfarers)

I agree! I buy the least expensive I can find because I also wear them on the bike. You go through shades very quickly on a bike. Usually only good for a couple of months.

djpathfinder 05-05-2011 10:30 AM

Oakley Flak Jacket or Bolle's.

I just found my old pair of Oakley Frog Skins from 1985! I had my newest scrip put in them and am going with the retro look. My wife doesn't like them. She calls them my birth control glasses, because when I wear those I'm not getting any. Lol.

Anarky 05-13-2011 12:20 AM

Oakley Flak Jacket

LOL birth control glasses. Never knew sunglasses could turn a woman off...guess I shouldn't be surprised.

Ray Ban Aviators or a cheap knock-off when I forget them somewhere

The Ray Bans do seem to get scratches on the lens though :(

They are a must have. Just have to be real careful with them.

ClemsonWill 11-11-2011 07:44 AM

I have picked up a few more pairs in the last few months

Costa Del Mar Fantail (matte black with blue lens)
http://www.backcountry.com/images/it...M0168/BLAB.jpg
These are great for the boat or sports. I rode every rollercoaster at Carowinds without taking them off (no strap either).

Kaenon Burnet (Black)
http://proxy.pcdn.vresp.com/8c640148...nica-jamie.jpg
My other Kaenon's were stolen so I picked these up. They are similar to wayfarers but with an updated look. I really like them.

Ray Ban 4151 Polarized
http://static.zoovy.com/img/nyciwear...151_601_k3.jpg

Fake Oakley Frogskins (Clear with Fire lens)
http://www.fakeoakleysoutlet.net/ima...Fire%20083.jpg
I bought these to wear to the Clemson games.

I hardly wear mine just for that reason. But it's good to hear that they bend back easily.

The good thing about the Ray Bans is they aren't terribly expensive so if you do have to replace them you won't feel like punching yourself in the face.

wilsonp 12-18-2011 10:38 PM

I got a few sets of Ray Ban's pretty cheap from eBay that certainly appear to be genuine (can't always tell).

OTOH, I'm wearing my new Serengeti Driver Aviators all the time now.
