Is a burial at sea inline with Islam?

Geneva Convention states that if someone of that nature is killed that you must bury them in their fashion.

I know we did a Muslim ceremony and that's fine. But will the Arab world see the burial at sea as a sign of disrespect to Islam?

"hang him in the City" or "feed him pork" would just have angered alot of people which is something you dont want. By showing a sign of respect to the rest of the Islam world, who's reputation has been battered by this extremist, we are showing the world that we respect everyone, but this guy was a murdered. Still even so, we respect the rights of his Religion. It wasn't Islam's fault he existed. He twisted Islam to control people. And lastly yes it does conceal evidence. It also prevents his body from becoming a shrine, a calling for other extremists. It quite simply, buts an end to part of this.

No, I think you should be banned because your view is harmful to the site as a whole. It splinters the community and brings religion and intolerance where it doesn't belong. Being intolerant of hate speech does not make one intolerant.

Relax a bit man. I took his first comment as just general excitement / internet shinanigans. I took his second as simply proding and sarcasm.

In the end, people should just really go celebrate the killing of Bin Laden. While terrorist cells and extremism will continue, it should be alot more fragmented and "hopefully" not pose as big a threat.

I don't have anything against Muslims. Thing is, I don't consider bin Laden to be in any way representative of true Islam, which is why I don't think he really deserves much respect. As the vast majority of muslims will attest to, bin Laden and his ilk have a completely twisted view of Islam. In any case, I was just trying to have a little fun to break up an otherwise very boring day. I'm sorry if I stepped on anyone's toes.

It's an emotionally charged topic for both sides. While the pork comment may be found offensive by 'some' Muslim people, the comment was directed at Osama not all Muslim people.

My best friend is Egyptian and a devout Muslim and I joke about slipping powdered pork into his protein shakes all the time and I declare jihad on him before we spar in MMA and he laughs afterwards because he knows I mean him no personal malice and he sees it for what it is.

It was not an attack on Islam, it was a comment meant to show Osama as much disrespect as possible in an outrageous way, which might be normally crossing the line, but when someone orchestrates a terrorist attack which kills 3000 civilians I'm not sure they deserve to be sheltered from 'intolerant comments'

My suggestion is since the comment was not meant to offend you personally, choose not get offended. Why feel insulted when no insult was intended?
