I know, somebody made a map what would happen in case of total meltdown with the current air currents.

I just got confirmation from a close friend who spoke to Mr. K on the phone last night. Mr. K and his family and the rest of the Z crew in Japan are doing well. Apparently Mr. K is in good spirits and still cracking jokes (for those of you who have met him you will understand).

I wanted to pass that bit of info along for those who were wondering.

I THINK they're in Chiba, i.e. Tokyo area. Most of my Tokyo-based friends checked in and are okay, they should be as well.

That is incredible in the worst way. :(

Wow, it looks like they are going to lose the Iwaki nuclear plant some time today. These disasters show just how vulnerable we really are, especially in the midst of tragedies like this. :(

Good, tom hadn't gotten a shipping notice yet so according to him I should be fine because the kit wasn't at the harbor yet.

I do find it funny how otaku all over japan are posting pictures of their ruined figurines.

one reactor is completely ruined now since they are cooling it with seawater which destroys it. temperatures are dropping in the one that exploded and radioactive levels are dropping.

3 elderly people got exposed while waiting for their evacuation ride.

Jesus. Looks like Hawaii is spared but fallout could drift to the whole west cost and beyond :icon14:

a third reactor is on its way to meltdown. they are going to release radioactive steam to relieve the pressure on the reactor.

A third one failing? I was surprised at the number of plants they have!

well its one nuclear plant with 4 reactors.

reactor 1 almost was going into meltdown. was stopped just in time. roof and outer shell exploded due to the pressure build up but the reactor shield is still standing.

reactor 2 is cooling down

reactor 3 is going into melt down. now they are releasing the radioactive steam to prevent it from blowing up like reactor 1 and pumping seawater into it to cool it down.

reactor 4 is stable.
