The thing is cd's will probably never die. Even with digital taking over with strong audiophiles wanted the best uncompressed quality they will always look to solid media instead of digital or at least in the ripping over to digital in my case. Not to mention nothing like looking at your cd collection on the racks.

Lp's still live I can see cd's surviving as well. Of course the "connivence" crowd will always want things faster and smaller and not so much quality. Audiophiles are not a dime a dozen they are more like one our of every 100.

I will agree with this... hell I still own LPs... I was a club DJ before I do what I do now. When I would spin somewhere else, like an on the spot deal, and the only had laptops and mp3 based systems.. I felt cheap.. like it wasn't as real as with LPs... sounds stupid, but yea

I have never been real big on audio. I use a $50 set of dell 5.1 speakers on my computer and before that I used a set of $20 speakers.

I just guess that my brain does not appreciate high quality input and I am not much of an audio-type person. I know I don't learn well from listening and have always done better by watching/reading.

I don't hesitate to spend big bucks on visual equipment. Ive always ran the highest resolution monitors (2560x1920 back in the CRT days) and 3840x2400 on one of my LCD's at work. To me visual quality is king and I will pay a premium for it.

I guess I am a Videophile? Of course that shows up as a spelling mistake so maybe there is no such thing as a videophile? lol.
